Will this work in germany?

It should, location does not matter. You just need a internet connect that you can access.

I have this unit for about 8 months First off product support for this company just does not exist. Call them and they never answer the phone. E-mail them and they never reply. Open a ticket on their web site and they just close it. Ok im a IT guy and even for me set up was a pain the butt. Follow all the set up instructions and it would not connect to my network. After about an hour of repeating the setup over and over again several times it just started working. Note there is a default code of 1234, you must delete this code at the lock it self, it does not show up in the software interface and it cant be deleted there either. I have seen this lock in use at other locations and just for the fun of it I tried the 1234 code and it worked. If you have this lock delete the code at the door/lock. The buttons stick, and it can take several try's to get it to take the code. After about 8 months the lock mechanism jammed. It was like the bolt was spring loaded closed. You could not unlock it with the number pad. You had to use the key. When you turn the key it would spring back. So you had to hold the key while you opened the door. Same thing if inside. If you turned the level to unlock the door it would spring back locked again. You have to hold it till the door is open. This is when I found out how worthless support was. I found the fix in another review. To fix this remove the inside part of the unit that holds the batterys. Look at the silver plate on the inside of the unit and remove the 3 small screws that hold it in place. Note the white gears, the smaller on in the upper left can be removed by just lifting out. This will release the spring that keeps locking the bolt. Now just reinstall the gear. Test the level/knob that locks/unlocks the door it should move freely now. reinstall and it should be good to go.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Looking Lock with Problems I own 2 of these locks and have had them in use since Dec 2012. I purchased these direct from LockState. A deadbolt and a lever handle. I use them on vacation rental properties. The lock looks very nice and feels solid but have only performed fair. The lock itself is a standard lock. Not better than any cheap set found in the store. The mechanism to electronically control the lock consists of the keypad which is silicon buttons over the circuit board. A wire from the keypad attaches to the controller board in the back housing. This controls a simple motor and gears to move the bolt in or out or on the lever lock turn the button. I have not had any problem with the wireless connection from the router to the lock and battery life has been reasonable when set to connect to the internet at 20 min. intervals. Battery life has been the same on both locks. What I have had problems with and have received a couple of replacements during the warranty period is the Keypad and locking mechanism. The key pad stopped functioning twice. Buttons stopped making contact and others seem to stick. They sent out a new replacement which is the circuit board with the silicon button cover. So far after the last replacement the keypads are still working. The bigger problem is the gear mechanism. Several times a year I have to remove the lock from the door, open the back housing where the motor is located, disengage the motor and rotate the lock button until the spring resets itself. For no reason the spring mechanism pops out of place causing the lock to be stuck in the close position. When this happens the motor cannot open the lock, it is held in the closed position by the spring. The only way to open the lock is to use the key and you must hold the key in the open position otherwise it will just spring back. Lockstate has sent me at least one replacement lock and it eventually happened on that one also. This is not a unique experience with it happening on both the dead bolt and lever locks. When I called tech support they immediately knew what happened and gave me the solution to get the lock working. The only reason these are still in use is because of the cost to replace and I have a lifetime free account on the LockState website. When I find a good remote lock that works well and is reasonably priced these will be replaced. As others have said the phone app is useless except to lock or unlock. You need to sign in to the website for any other functions. The website is just fair when it comes to usability. I have setup codes that were not properly sent to the lock by the website causing me to resend a code while a guest was waiting at the door. Sometimes their website sends multiple text notifications when a lock is opened. Overall I would not recommend this lock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Cool Lock Wow! I came here to put a review on because this lock completely solved my problems. I see the other negative reviews, but I have not experienced any of those; batteries are still going strong, and the installation was no issue (which I was concerned about). Basically, I needed a lock that would work for guests and visitors, without my having to be onsite. The code generation performed flawlessly, and my guests were impressed. A little pricey, but totally worth it. Works just like it says. Coolest thing for me is being able to pair it with iphone. I am looking for a complete remote system, and I'm thinking this "connect" thing from RemoteLock might be it. Cool product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked first. Installation was easy and programming OK. Worked well at first and was set to interrogate every ten minutes for a 6 month battery life. The first set of batteries lasted for approximately three months. Now, the batteries last five days. I receive a low battery message via E-mail. THe lock is completely dead within a few hours after the message is sent. I have set it for 15 minute interrogations and will see if this gives any improvement. Also: the android app is of little value. it allows me to unlock or lock the device (if the batteries are not dead) but does not permit sending codes to guests; this must be done from my PC. Not what was expected nor what was implied from the sales information. My current opinion is very negative. Hopefully the company will improve the software and firmware. Will wait a while but likely remove the lock and trash it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remote WIFI Door Lock Lock was easy to install. Works great, I can see who comes & goes, & instead of giving out Keys or codes, I can unlock & lock as I please to help control who I want to let in. Great product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Lock Purchased this product and received on 11/6/13. By 11/15/13 I had gone through 2 sets of batteries and this is from a working couple who only use the lock twice a day. I bought alkaline and lithium batteries neither of them lasted more than a few days. I am now in possession of a dead lock shopping for a new one immediately.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth it The screws that came with it were the wrong size. Unlocking from your phone is a joke. Unless you want to change batteries every few days, it's useless.
