I bought one tube and couldn't squeeze any out, figured it had gone bad. Got another tube, it won't come out either.

Answer:
Dude. There is a seal inside the nozzle. You have to pierce it with the pin on your caulking gun, or a coat hanger or something.

Answer:
You didn't puncture the seal under the nozzle. That's why your calking gun has a long puncturing tool in the end.

Can this be used to around an outdoor fireplace?

What's the max temp rating?. I'm thinking on using this to hold blocks one on top of the other (not to hold them to the sides of the fireplace). The actual fire box is covered with fire blocks, so the adhesive won't receive direct heat.

Answer:
The Loctite PL 500 VOC Landscape Block Adhesive can be used to bond all types stone, brick, concrete, and wood. The adhesive will take 2-7 days to dry so you will want to limit the quantity of stones bonded together at one time.

Answer:
It depends how the wood had been treated. It's not recommended for hygroscopic salt-treated wood, for example, zinc chloride treatments since these substances attract, absorb and retain moisture.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Worth Using I used this product on a retaining wall that is only two blocks in height. (A garden) After 2 years, 50% of the second level blocks were loose. All blocks were clean when I created the wall as the dirt had not been poured in yet. I had to reinstall the blocks with PL Premium 10 fl. oz. Advanced Polyurethane Construction Adhesive. That seemed to do the trick. If you are planning on creating a block stack in any way, I would go with something that has better quality, or you will be redoing your project again in a short amount of time. June 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This stuff ROCKS I used 3 boxes of this stuff building all of the walls in our new backyard landscape. Easy to work with and holds up great. I even used it to stick the decorative birds to blocks to keep them from tipping over. You can pickup the whole thing by grabbing the legs of the bird. Fantastic product. Just be sure to keep a big screw handy to plug the end between uses. November 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dont try to substitute! This product grabs, holds, and lasts! Not the case with any other product I have tried. I have young children that love to "walk the walls" I have had no loose capstones since using this product! October 15, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't store well I used it one week, and it worked reasonably well, though the squeeze handle had to be squeezed pretty hard. I capped the tube as directed, but a week later I could hardly get anything out at all. If you are going to use it all at once, that's good. But if your project is spread out over a week, just get the ordinary tubes of landscape adhesive, used with a caulk gun. February 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by homestone I've used over 175 tubes of this and it works. I use on all landscape block (even with lip) not just the caps. No problems. I use about a tube for every 7 or 8 blocks. Capstones about the same rate. If working in the hot sun, you had better get it on, check it a few times (tends to slide around some). The next day you will need a chisel and hammer to pry off. Make sure your blocks are clean and dry. Adhesive doesn't stick at all to a damp surface. August 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by does not work in cold weather applied it on pavers in 40-50 degree weather. did not dry. says on label will work up to 20 degrees. nope November 10, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glues tight, easy to apply Bought this to adhere cap stones to a retaining wall. Has worn well thru 3 seasons and four kids balanceing on it. Very stable results, easy to apply. October 29, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems to work fine Nothing exciting here. Just some super adhesive for cap stones. If you just run a bead, it may not hold well because caps often don't sit perfectly flush with retaining walls. I found that placing larger blobs every few inches worked better. You can check by running a bead, setting down the cap, then lifting it back up. You may notice that contact is not made in many areas. I haven't tried ripping off the caps to check the strength, but I don't think it would be fun trying. July 2, 2013
