Answer:
For maximum strength let the item sit (clamped if appropriate) for 24 hours (just to be safe). It will have cured sooner, but I am conservative. Also a warm spot or room temp.

Good for re-attaching rubber soles to uppers on walking sneakers?

Reebok Walking sneakers after just 4 walks are having soles separating from the uppers. One shoe has front 4 inches totally separated, the other is showing a separation gap on one side. Is this product good for re-attaching or would the Ultra Gel or the Stik'n Seal be the best Super Glue to use?

Answer:
I've had very little success with any super glue on soles. When cured, the glue doesn't like to flex. A silicon based adhesive would probably work better.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by absolute junk This never set up. The gel is thin and uncontrollable. If you close it up, it leaks out. For no reason I could see, the screw nipple is loose, so that if you take the applicator off to make sure it will flow, you can't get it back on because the screw nipple falls back into the container. It's in some sort of sleeve so you don't lose it, but you can't get the applicator back on. Meanwhile it's leaking all over the place. Every Loctite glue we've bought in the last 2 weeks is junk. no more loctite July 23, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Rip-off I had a project that I could not finish because I ran out of glue! The bottle LOOKS like it has plenty of contents. Actually it ran out WAY before it looked like it should have. It was my fault for not noticing the amount was .18 ("decimal point" 18); however, the bottle was very deceptive. I wasted a day's productivity. I'm not happy. The product is good, the packaging sucks. June 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic!!!!! Very easy to apply once you figure out how to open the spout and where to press to get the product. It is not obvious (at least not for me). You must first take it out of the package (of course) but then you twist the cap clock-wise to open the container; then un-screw the cap. You press on the grey side grip to get the glue. Once you know, you know. After that, the glue really works. You'll love it. August 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great glue, Best dispenser I use this on almost everything. Arrow fletching, kids toys, hair bows, picture frames, etc. The container gives you great control during application. The only thing that is doesn't due to will on is fabrics. August 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent glue I found this glue originally at Walmart, which was recommended to me by a Walmart associate. This glue is very strong, waterproof, dishwasher proof and has a controlled tip. Since you use the side handles to control the flow of the glue, it is easy to control the amount of glue dispensed and the tip does not dry out. I have since found it also at Home Depot. I would definitely recommend this glue. June 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good stuff but too expensive This is by far the best "super glue" I have ever used but it's just too damned expensive. The small amount in each bottle just doesn't go very far at all. It does a great job of gluing and I love how quickly it sets to allow you to release it but for the amount you get it should cost about 95 cents, not three or four dollars. Somebody is making a lot of money on this stuff. April 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Crafting Glue A very stable gel that doesn't run when applying it. The applicator nozzle stays open and hasn't clogged on me once through three bottle's worth of usage. The 'control' comes from the squeezable sides, allowing you not only to dictate how much you squeeze out, but ensuring that you can get use out of every last drop. I've found it to be an excellent adhesive for the plastics that I work with building models, securing pieces together with little clamping and fast drying. It seals tight, with no visible gaps between pieces and minimal excess that is easily wiped away if taken care of soon after application. May 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great!! I had to find some quick to fix my flipper before a meeting after I broke it eating peanuts. I tried a different glue that held it loosely, but then I bought this stuff. It worked great, and dried very fast! Held the toot in place like it was fixed by the dentist himself. The glues come out in a very controlled manner, and unlike another posted, its very simple to open and close. I am heading up to by another bottle just incase this happens again. December 18, 2014
