Can this be used for large ceramic or porcelain wall tile?

Asked by: JustMe
I used it to attach bullnose porcelain to the wood front edge of a countertop we created using tile. I did use thin set for the countertop on hardiback cement board but for attaching bullnose edging to wood it worked good. I also used it for some porcelain trim on drywall and it worked fine. Not sure if it would be ideal using on cement board and have not tried it in that application.

I used this Loctite PL 530 to help attach a fairly large (3' x 5') and heavy mirror to a "drywall over stud" type of wall. I did not completely trust the plastic clips alone to support the mirror so I applied this adhesive to the wall behind the mirror. It has been three weeks and it is holding fine. I suppose I will never know for certain whether either the clips or the Loctite alone would have held, but then guess I'm a belt and suspenders kind of guy. I suppose the drawback to using this adhesive is that it would be more difficult to move the mirror if ever I wanted to. This adhesive is fairly viscous and it takes a pretty firm grip to force it out of the tube using a manual caulking gun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked like a charm! My husband and I are diy novices, and when our large bathroom mirror fell off the wall, we weren't sure exactly what to use to put it back up. After some research, we purchased Loctite Adhesive for Mirrors and it worked great. Easy to apply and so far our heavy mirror is still tightly glued to the wall.

When using this product to bond stone tile to a fireplace it was difficult to work with because it took too long to set up. My contractor said I should have bought liquid nails, which is sets up faster, is less expensive, and bonds well.
