No. But it's used on the underside and not visible as long as you don't use a lot on the edges. I used five dots on back of each subway tile.

Answer:
I used it to attach bullnose porcelain to the wood front edge of a countertop we created using tile. I did use thin set for the countertop on hardiback cement board but for attaching bullnose edging to wood it worked good. I also used it for some porcelain trim on drywall and it worked fine. Not sure if it would be ideal using on cement board and have not tried it in that application.

The PL 530 is designed for attaching granite or marble countertops to the base cabinets. The adhesive can be used in making repairs with ceramic tile but it is not suitable for use with porcelain tiles. Mirrors and wall tile must be supported with clips or channels and blocked during the curing process. The product is not designed for large floor or wall projects which require the use of thin set mortar Read More

I will be installing/attaching a 1 1/2" thick granite surround on a drywall wall.
The weight of the granite will be based on the floor. It will be configured around the gas fireplace in four pieces. 47 3/4" X 7" piece on the bottom. 47 3/4" X 9 1/2" on the top. 25" X 7 3/4" ea on the sides.

Answer:
The maximum heat the adhesive can withstand is 150°F. The PL 530 adhesive will begin to soften and loose its bond. We would not recommend using this type of product to attach granite around a fireplace. Typically a mortar based product would be used in this type of application. Unfortunately we do not offer a product that would be suitable in this type of application.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Serves its purpose I normally do not leave reviews for adhesive, but since HD asked nicely, I suppose I will. I bought this because I decided I wanted to upgrade our "builder's grade bathroom mirror" in the guest bathroom. I was going to achieve this by purchasing moulding and gluing it to the mirror to give the effect the mirror was framed. As I proceeded to add the moulding to the mirror, I noticed there was no way I could add the moulding to the mirror as we had those ugly mirror clips that were in the way. So off to HD I went to purchase this adhesive. I removed the mirror clips and used this adhesive to attach the mirror to the wall and let dry for 24 hrs. Once I was sure the mirror was going to stay put, I used this adhesive once again to attach the moulding to the mirror. The mirror and its new frame have been up for 2 weeks now and look great! I am very pleased! September 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by When using this product to bond stone tile to a fireplace it was difficult to work with because it took too long to set up. My contractor said I should have bought liquid nails, which is sets up faster, is less expensive, and bonds well. October 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great For Bullnose Tile Used this to attach bullnose tile to the front edge of a countertop. Did exactly what it was intended and expected to do...holds tight and with the help of painter's tape to hold bullnose in place while it cured it worked fine. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lotite PL530 Mirror, Marble and Granite Adhesive This adhesive worked great for my 60" X 74" Dining Room Mirror. The bonding is excellent. August 12, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not shaping up to be as promised A mirror came loose from the back with the hanger. I purchased this product specially as it was specifically for mirrors. I followed the directions exactly. The mirror attached and I returned it to its place. BUT just a few months later the mirror appeared to be dirty. On closer inspection I can see that the adhesive is affecting the mirrored surface from the back. It remains to be seen how bad it will get, but I would not recommend this product. November 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Performs as advertised Product worked very well installing a stone backsplash. Right consistency, no run and good initial tack. Very low odor. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PL 530 Mirror Glue Worked great. did no damage to the aluminum on the back of the mirror. The mirror weighs 40 pounds and the glue holds it on the door. I gave the glue a couple of days to dry before putting the door vertical. I have never had any problems with any Loctite product, they seem to have made a glue to stick everything. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works as advertised Standard mirror mastic. Holds well and dries quickly. No problems and I covered an entire wall in 12" x12" mirror tiles. October 6, 2015
