There are small tubes in the paint dept. Where the other items like super glue ECT.are hung.

Maybe you could ask them at the contractor counter, but normally, no. A case costs the same per tube.

Will this product hold up the decorative wall paneling (shadow boxes) on drywall?

Asked by: Anonymous
For one, this is a permanent glue, so you'd have to cut it out of your wall, to remove it. Also, it needs clamping for 24 hours, per the instructions. I'd use screws personally.

Only use this product when you are certain that you want the items in question permanently stuck together. I used this adhesive in a situation that I needed to rework. The only way to get things apart was total destruction of the items I had glued together. I glued a 2x6 to some concrete along with a tapcon screw. When I realized I need to take it apart, nothing doing. The only way to get it apart was to chop the wood apart.

I'm a manufacturing engineer, I've used and specified lots of adhesives for different application. Setup was as expected, not too fast but plenty fast enough. When dried you better hope you got it in the right location cause you'r not moving it. Very good results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly (with clamp pressure) PL adhesive is a strong as anything but it is only for certain applications: 1.) Must have excellent-good clamping pressure for strong results. PL fills gaps but the gaps are very weak. Does not fill gaps like epoxy does. 2.) Needs moisture to cure. 3.) Sticks almost as good as epoxy to exotic/oily woods. 4.) On large surface areas, spread with tiny notched trowel. 5.) It is almost impossible to remove from skin. Wear gloves. I built my boat using PL (where I could apply clamp pressure at least!) and would use it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Adhesive This product has impressed me every time I've used it. The bond is very strong. The most impressive experience was bonding PVC wainscoting to glossy ceramic bathroom tile & then gluing plastic base moulding to the wainscoting. I used no clamping or weight on the wainscoting but butted cement blocks against the moulding during drying time. The adhesive is very tacky but can be repositioned easily. Reviewers complain about oozing tubes after releasing their caulking gun; this can be reduced or eliminated by making sure to puncture the inner foil seal multiple times to make as large a hole as possible. This keeps oozing to a minimum by not allowing pressure to build in the tube & it makes the end of the nozzle the choke point. I use little Red Cap caulk savers on partially used tubes & the PL stays fresh for months, longer than most cartridge adhesives & caulks. I reused a tube to eliminate a water leak around a concrete wall basement gas pipe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sticky stuff I like this adhesive a lot. It's incredibly strong - especially when you put something where you don't want it... and have to remove it later. Measure thrice, glue once. It is, however, messy stuff. It sticks to everything, requires solvent clean up, and if you leave it on your fingers will take a day or more to wear off. This is compounded by the fact that the tube seems to contain an air bubble - and no amount of careful backing off of the caulk-gun plunger after application will prevent it slowly oozing for another 2-3 minutes. Lay it down on a scrap of something.

I should have done some research on construction adhesives before I wasted my time and money on the other products that are available. I have to agree with most everyone here that this product is in a different class than everything else. The other products were all the same meaning that they would sag, took forever to dry /cure and didn't have the holder power that PL does.

In addition to regular use at work, I recently built a Christmas creche out of western cedar 4x4, 2x4, and pickets- you know, fence materials- for our church, using PL premium. 40 half lapped pegged joints. If you want a strong, permanent, weatherproof joint, this glue is for you. I glued and screwed the joints tight as I went. The following day pulled the screws, bored 5/8ths holes through the joints where the screws had been placed, and glued and pegged the joints. Incredibly strong construction technique, WAY stronger than 3" plated drywall screws I normally use on half laps. Pegged and glued half laps baby. THE way to roll, especially in historic post and beam recreation where time isn't a factor. PL does stain your hands big time, and it oozes to beat the band. Solution? Jam a round pencil or carve a plug and jam it in the snout. Set the gun down on its side, with the plug butted against something so it doesn't pop out. Drawback it is expense, but big deal, it is forever.

This held three flat bricks to the wooden step and has been that way for over a year. The bond is that good. These bricks weigh a good 7lbs+ each. Very strong!
