How to glue overlap panels

The technical data sheet says this can't glue the overlap for multiple panels. What adhesive is used for that then? Because it does need to be glued down.

The video says caulk it. http://videos.homedepot.com/detail/videos/bath/video/3808119186001/how-to-install-glue-up-shower-walls?autoStart=true

Can I use this in place of caulk to re-caulk around my tub?

The sales rep at Home Depot said that I could remove the old caulk around my tub and then use this product to re-caulk, but nowhere in the instructions or in any online videos have I seen this product used to caulk.
Asked by: Vanessa
I have had incredible results with this product as a standard caulk and around bath fixtures. It's paintable and I can bleach mold off it. It really holds it's bond to the wall and the plastic, wood, acrylic, etc. A lot of these tub surround companies insist that you use a latex caulk to caulk around the edges and corners of poly tub surrounds. This product fits their specifications so I went ahead and used it as caulk on the outside and inside. 5 years later, it has not cracked or broken free. So, I've started using it on many applications that I normally would use latex/silicone caulk. The only drawback is it dries quickly so keep a wet rag or bucket with you as you go. I use a quality primer and then caulk over that for maximum adhesion and then paint right over this caulk.

Will this product attach tub surround to drywall that has been primed with drywall sealer?

The drywall in the tub surround area has screws and joints that have been taped and covered with joint compound. Presume glue will have a hard time sticking to unsealed joint compound so planned to use sealer over entire area. Will this work?
Asked by: DIYDave
I have always sealed with Kils low odor oil over the drywall and compound. Anytime you have the possibility of high moisture content in a bathroom, it's worth the extra prep work. I think 10 years down the road when finishes start to fail.

Power Grab 10 fl. oz. Tub Surround Adhesive is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Well The Loctite Tub Adhesive works well and initially dries in a reasonable amount of time. We did trowel the glue to spread the glue and to let the glue stiffen a bit. There was two spots where we used an adjustable shower rod holder and some 1x4 pieces of lumber to make sure the panel was flat to give the adhesive time to set more. This worked well. (Note that we used Loctite Tub adhesive only after several unsuccessful tries with trying to use Liquid Nails tub surround adhesive). "Do it right and get Loctite".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from "Power Grabs" The Job Right! This stuff works great. Great initial grab and great holding power. Sets fast and cures just as fast (a little sooner than the 24 hours stated depending on humidity levels and temperature). I would have given it 5 stars but you have to use way more than other shower/tub surround adhesives but it works way better so you get the job done right the first time. In most cases, no sagging of panels, no taping and no bracing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product - worked better than advertised. This product worked better than advertised. They recommend not using on cement board - did a test with it on cement board - worked perfectly. Worked perfectly on my tub surround as well - with cement board behind the panels. Also did a test with the Liquid Nails tub surround product - did not go well. I needed less than 4 tubes of the Loctite adhesive to complete the installation of a 3-piece tub surround.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works correctly Was able to use this product to install a 5 piece tub surround and to add FRP sheets to the wall above the tub surround. Product cured in less then 24 hours and holds tight. Tried Liquid Nails Tub Surround adhesive and that had to be scraped off, as it didn't cure. This product worked well!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good stuff Product worked pretty good. Overall I'm please. Definitely use in a well ventilated area. Tubes didn't go as far as i thought they would. Other than that it's good stuff for the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Bathroom Glue Great product without any smell. Good coverage. I used a bit less than was recommended and it worked great. The walls were not plumb as I had to replace some moldy drywall mating 1/2 inch with the existing 3/8 inch. I also had to trim up the drywall and feather out the joints.
