I just want to share my experience with this particular machine so that others don't go down the same road as I did before doing the proper research.
I have a background that included a lot of welding. I was fortunate enough to always use good quality, high powered machines, though I never owned one. I finally convinced my wife that I had enough welding projects to justify actually owning one of my own. I KNEW what I wanted, but the red, blue and orange brands were out of my price range by over $200. So I came across this Longevity brand and started reading reviews, on HD, Amazon, Wal-Mart, and watched a nice 4 part YouTube review from someone not affiliated with the brand. Although there were some negative reviews, I felt like maybe it was just bad luck for that particular person, and I decided to go for it anyway.
Here's where I got let down... we had to special order it and when it finally came, I was overjoyed and couldn't wait to fire it up and see what it could do. I was however, concerned about the excessive amount of packing tape sealing the box shut. Anyway, I took it home and plugged it in to a dedicated 20 amp circuit I had put in during construction in hopes of having a welder someday. I loaded up a spool and fed it in and squeezed the trigger. The motor turned for about 2 seconds and quit. 2 more seconds and quit. The third time it tried, it popped the breaker. I made sure the tensioner wasn't too tight and the drive wheel was set to the right wire diameter. All Ok. Reset the breaker, and it did the same thing. I didn't even try again. Normally I would have taken that thing apart to see if I could fix it myself... But why? I payed for a brand new machine. Instead, I took it straight off the bench right back into the box... But as I did, I noticed something fishy... On the back of the machine where the fan shroud was there was a glob of black touch up paint (see Pic). I realized it was cosmetic and had nothing to do with the problem I had, but it got me thinking about all that packing tape again! I believe I got a refurbished unit that had been returned before, and I payed for a BRAND NEW machine. Well I started to get angry and thought about going straight to the manufacturer with a complaint. But, I packed it up and returned it today, but left a note for the next person in the box just for fun.
Here's where I went wrong, but also what I did right:
I was right to buy it through Home depot because of the hassle free return. Its gone, I'm done...
I was wrong because at no point did I research any WELDING forums... seriously... stop now and go to a welding forum like weldingweb.com and type in Longevity in the search bar. There are mostly bad reviews/posts, but there are also good reviews/posts from people hiding behind the company. If you read them it wont take you long to figure out who they are. People LOSE their minds over this brand, from poor customer service (if any at all), DOA machines like mine, and having to return the whole unit to Hayward, CA for any repairs. (on YOUR dime if its out of its warranty period)
I was very disappointed, because of the price point of this machine, the fact that it could do both MIG and Flux core, could add a spool gun to do aluminum, had all metal drive wheel assembly (which you don't normally find on cheaper 120 machines) and a Tweeko gun assembly.
I'm sure that I could have returned it and got another, but I wasn't willing to risk it down the road if something went wrong with it. I didn't want the heartache others had gone through.
Now I don't want anyone to think that this is a negative review of HD, because they were great. I also don't want people to that Longevity is all bad either, because this is MY first (and only) experience with it. I didn't have to deal with them directly, and after reading some horror stories off the forums, I'm glad I didn't have to. I WANTED to like this machine and this brand, but I only get burned once before I go back to my first instincts. I will save some more money and get the "old reliable" RED or Blue one. Hope this helps some of you avoid any problems, and make an educated purchase.

I weld daily and started a metal -fabrication business. Not only do I rely on my machines but so do my customers. I was drawn to the low prices of Longevity's machines and when they work ,they aren't bad machines. But my MIG 140 stopped welding about 2 weeks after I began using it and the customer service from Longevity was friendly at first on the phone but quickly degraded when it came to the repair and/or replacement of the unit. Better Business Bureau was not helpful. Needless to say I am without this unit which could have been promising only if Longevity followed their policies and not changed the wording mid way through the case. IF YOU DON'T WANT A HEADACHE AND UNDUE STRESS, DO NOT BUY!!!!

The welder is simple and easy to use. The wand cables and hoses are all of good quality. The welding shield is junk but the rest is really good.

the screw that holds fan come lose had to take a part to fix. welds great. need to invest in gas for welder. go ahead in buy the big roll of wire. the only think is the shield was broke I call and ask far a new one have not got it yet has been over 1 year no big dill you need one that goes on your head anyway

When I received the welder the front plastic was broke and bottom was bent and door does not close, I did not send it back because I needed to use it

I had purchased a plasma cutter and AC/DC TIG welder which work very well and the price was great...I thought the quality would carry through on all of their products. Well, I unboxed the MIG 140 after it sat in its box for several weeks and after a week of use, it died. I have been back and forth with support, tech, etc....although under warranty, they insist on charging $160 roundtrip to have it returned. Stick to Lincoln, Miller, Hobart, or at least someone where you can get parts and/or diagnoses locally and ones that go the extra mile to back up their customer service.

I haven't used this welder much yet. It appears to be built as well as the Hobart and Lincoln I looked at for $100+ less. The few times I have used, it has welded what I needed. This is my first mig welder and I have found it much easier to use than my stick welder. I plan on using the Migweld 140 for patching up new metal on my truck and lighter jobs and my stick welder for the heavier work.
