is it possible to add these Elite Series Indoor/Outdoor 650 TVL PTZ Security Camera with 3X Optical Zoom cameras to this system and if so how many can be added?

Also, is there a maximum distance between the cameras and the unit.

Last, what additional equipment if any is needed to have a screen monitoring and to log for remote monitoring?

Thank you!

The only cameras you can add to this system are listed on the Lorex website. I believe its only Bullet (as seen here), or dome. Not many options, and absolutely no third-party cameras. (unless its "rooted", which is very complicated)
I read that PoE is only effective up to 100 feet, each channel.

I purchased 13" TV's with an HDMI input. A powered HDMI Splitter, HDMI Cables. + Installed iOS Iphone app, and IPad apps. As a result, I can watch the 4 cameras from any floor in my house, and remotely I can view from my iphone, or my Ipad. All at no monthly cost. (except internet costs). Read Less

Answer:
Hello,
The Lorex NVR system is only compatible with other Lorex HD NVR cameras, and would not be compatible with other brands or manufacturers. The max distance is 300' on a single run of CAT5e or CAT6 cable. We do not have specific equipment for screen mirroring on the unit, you may be able to locate something to mirror your screen from a 3rd party vendor.
Thanks, Lorex

Answer:
Hello,
The NVR can be located in a different room than the router, however for network remote access you would need to run an Ethernet (CAT5 or CAT6) cable between the NVR and your router. You can use any standard Ethernet cable for this purpose.
Thanks, Lorex

Hello,
For remote viewing, they system requires an Ethernet connection into a router and high speed modem (with a hardline DSL or Cable connection). It cannot work with mobile internet sticks.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor APP Support I have this system and their APP to view this on Android has been broken since the Lillipop release late last year. (This is the latest OS.) It's been about 6 months and they still haven't released a fix. Poor support...beware if you're buying and have lollipop. But with their poor software support, I would avoid thier products. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'm loving it! Pretty easy to set-up. But I'm well experienced with electronics, networking, and troubleshooting. Which is why I'm rating this NVR system so highly. I've done months of research on NVR systems within my affordability and found that as far as bang-for-the-buck, this is a very impressive system. Spend more, and you'll find a better product. spend less: and you'll find an affordable lesser product. But buy this one, and be happy! Note: This system has a lot of features, and it takes time to learn them all. Some observations: #1. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PASSCODE YET! The first thing the instructions had me do is change my passcode from default. MY RECOMMENDATION is: Wait until all cameras are installed, All apps are installed on your phone, Ipad, computer, etc... And everything is set up the way you want it. THEN change your passcode from the default. Its a long story, but I somehow immediately locked myself out of the NVR (because the pw entry mechanism is TERRIBLE) and the ONLY way to clear it, is to contact a real-live person at Lorex. I started on Friday night. The following weekend I learned that when you open your Ipad app, it asks you to change your password. Now its a different entry mechanism and its confusing because you're not sure if you're changing the APPS password, or your NVR's password. Guess which one it was! It took awhile before I learned to leave the Password thing alone for awhile. 2. 50' of Cat5e cable is A LOT! , Buy something like the "Network Tool Kit" by Datashark from Home Depot. You can then cut off the extra Cat5e cable, and make for a more professional installation. Be forewarned, re-connecting plugs to cat5e cable is an art. Once you get the hang of it, its not so bad, but it takes a lot of practice and can be maddening. 3. When your camera is mounted the "Green Eye" should be at 6 o'clock. (You'll thank me later) 4. Check to see if your local law-enforcement will allow you to register your cameras. Ours will send you a sticker to put on your doors from the city. 5. Plan your cable path first. All of them. 6. The Field-of-view is never going to be as wide as you want. BUT..if your camera is rotated correctly, you may find its wider than you thought. (See #2 about the "green eye") 7. I personally believe that each camera should be in view of another camera. I want to see the SMARTER thief who figured its easier to first steal your cameras, then break into your house. So "cover" your-self too. 8. Yes, the fan is louder than I expected, but my house is seldom dead-silent anyway. And thats the only time I hear the fan. 9. Buy a wireless usb rf mouse! March 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great picture Read a lot of reviews talking about the set up time and tech support taking to long. Neither of them I had a issue with. Picture is awesome!! October 1, 2014
