Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'm loving it! Pretty easy to set-up. But I'm well experienced with electronics, networking, and troubleshooting. Which is why I'm rating this NVR system so highly. I've done months of research on NVR systems within my affordability and found that as far as bang-for-the-buck, this is a very impressive system. Spend more, and you'll find a better product. spend less: and you'll find an affordable lesser product. But buy this one, and be happy! Note: This system has a lot of features, and it takes time to learn them all. Some observations: #1. DO NOT CHANGE YOUR PASSCODE YET! The first thing the instructions had me do is change my passcode from default. MY RECOMMENDATION is: Wait until all cameras are installed, All apps are installed on your phone, Ipad, computer, etc... And everything is set up the way you want it. THEN change your passcode from the default. Its a long story, but I somehow immediately locked myself out of the NVR (because the pw entry mechanism is TERRIBLE) and the ONLY way to clear it, is to contact a real-live person at Lorex. I started on Friday night. The following weekend I learned that when you open your Ipad app, it asks you to change your password. Now its a different entry mechanism and its confusing because you're not sure if you're changing the APPS password, or your NVR's password. Guess which one it was! It took awhile before I learned to leave the Password thing alone for awhile. 2. 50' of Cat5e cable is A LOT! , Buy something like the "Network Tool Kit" by Datashark from Home Depot. You can then cut off the extra Cat5e cable, and make for a more professional installation. Be forewarned, re-connecting plugs to cat5e cable is an art. Once you get the hang of it, its not so bad, but it takes a lot of practice and can be maddening. 3. When your camera is mounted the "Green Eye" should be at 6 o'clock. (You'll thank me later) 4. Check to see if your local law-enforcement will allow you to register your cameras. Ours will send you a sticker to put on your doors from the city. 5. Plan your cable path first. All of them. 6. The Field-of-view is never going to be as wide as you want. BUT..if your camera is rotated correctly, you may find its wider than you thought. (See #2 about the "green eye") 7. I personally believe that each camera should be in view of another camera. I want to see the SMARTER thief who figured its easier to first steal your cameras, then break into your house. So "cover" your-self too. 8. Yes, the fan is louder than I expected, but my house is seldom dead-silent anyway. And thats the only time I hear the fan. 9. Buy a wireless usb rf mouse! March 1, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor APP Support I have this system and their APP to view this on Android has been broken since the Lillipop release late last year. (This is the latest OS.) It's been about 6 months and they still haven't released a fix. Poor support...beware if you're buying and have lollipop. But with their poor software support, I would avoid thier products. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Initial Thoughts I've only had this system for about a week right now. It was easy to set up and configure and the picture quality is phenomenal. I like the fact that I can view my cameras from any web browser as well as on my Android phone. I did have to call support once due to the fact that there was some "port forwarding" issues but they were able to quickly identify and solve the problem with me on the phone. Support staff was polite and courteous. Overall this appears to be a great system for the money. I will update this review after I've had the system in service for several months as I cannot speak to to the reliability of this system at this time. May 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb quality Can't say enough about the quality of the cameras and NVR. Absolutely crystal clear HD views. April 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great HD system Excellent value for the Costco discounted price! The cameras look very small but are very powerful. Swann system with RG59 cameras were twice as large images were jittery so returned it. Purchased 4 additional POE IP cameras from Costco. Pros: 1. Easy to setup 2. Night and day vision is excellent. 3. POE RJ45/46 reduces wire cultter 4. Built in DHCP does not affect/reduce LAN bandwidth 5. Free remote viewing using DDNS Cons: 1. The motion sensor map seem very sensitive 2. It takes 20+ seconds for a camera to register after connecting 3. Playback can be sped up 2x max. 4. Motion emailed images are 2x4 inches max May 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great system...delivers as promised This was my first experience with video systems and it has been a great one. The instructions were very detailed and I was succesful in setting it up on my first attempt. I recommend setting it up in a controlled environment. I set up the NVR and the 4 cameras in my office. This allowed me to verify that everything was functioning and also allowed me to get comfortable with the many user options available. This product has many choices that will suit your needs. Once I was comfortable that everything was working as it should, I relocated the NVR to its final location and ran the cable and cameras to its locations outside. Wonderful 1080p video. I have accessed the system remotely via internet broswer and iPhone and it works wonderfully. May 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Happy After reviewing lots of systems i am very happy with this one, easy to set up, very clear, easy to use, had to call lorex tech because my router would not let me access the mobile app and they fixed me up and it all works very well now, the only thing that i would like to be able to is rewind on the computer softwear but thats a minnor inconvenience and you can rewind on the nvr. This is a great system for home surveillance and i would recommend this to anyone. May 26, 2013
