Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Customer Service in regards to three separate componant failures I purchased this product less than a year ago. In this time period, I have had three separate component failures, and a terrible response from Lorex Customer Service in response to my requests. The power cord for the monitor quit working after only 5 months of usage. Since this was just a small expense, I picked up a replacement at a local electronics store. Then, after 6 months of usage, the DVR quit for no apparent reason. I have all of the pieces plugged into quality surge protectors. The customer service passed me around to three different people, until I finally got a manager. He gave me the authorization to return the DVR and they shipped a replacement DVR. This process took a month for the replacement to arrive. The second DVR quit after only two weeks of usage. I am currently communicating with customer service to arrange for the return of the second DVR. I first contacted them about this in August and still waiting for a final confirmation from them to return it.They are very slow to respond to any concerns. I would not recommend this product at all. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't spend the money I have over 10 years of CCTV installation experience, and had high hopes for this unit. Here are the problems I have experienced: 1. Cannot get the system to remote view 2. Placed a tickect for service on lorex webisite and was informed to call 1-800 number 3. called 1-800 number waited on hold for 45 minutes. When someone picked up I had difficulty understanding them. They made no attempt to help, all they did was place a ticket for service. It's been 3 days and I still have not received a call back. 4. the video is poor and the system is not capable of picking up license plate numbers on slow moving vehicles from 25 feet away. I doubt that unless the person looked directly into the camera from within 15 feet you would be able to identify the facial features. (yes the system is set up for the highest resolution recording). 5. The touch screen system is a farce, I've already given up on it and began using the mouse. 6. one camera has already developed issues:during daylight mode there are pink streaks in the edges of the display. 7. Night mode is terrible unless you are using this in a very small internal space. I have a camera set to watch the parking area and the camera will only illuminate the rear quarter panel of the vehicle. Overall I would have been OK with this purchase provided that I had only paid 1/2 of the money that I actually did. April 11, 2013
