This grease gun is difficult to load. You almost need 3 hands to load it (since the lever of mine didn't lock like the directions said it would). After the loading process, it takes a long time to prime the grease.
With my luck, the nozzle that goes on the grease zerk got stuck on the zerk and in the attempt to carefully remove it, the grease zerk broke. Now it is stuck inside the nozzle. I will be returning this gun once I finish this review.
I wish Home Depot and other big-name stores would quit buying Chinese junk and consider American and Canadian products. Unfortunately, most of the time, all you can find is Chinese which this was the case for me.

I bought the grease gun for my riding lawn mower grease zerks, but the gun worked for about 1/3 of the 3 oz. tube of grease then failed. I wasted two more 3 oz. cartridges before deciding the product is just not operating correctly. I agree that air pockets are not the issue here, but a very poor designed seal that produces zero pressure to supply the grease to the nozzle. I was excited to save money, however, I now realize it's worth the extra money to save the frustration!

I bought this mini-greasegun to take on the road. It has been nothing but an aggravation. The problem seems to be air pockets that prevent grease from being extruded. After wasting 2 cartridges and ending up with the same problem, I took the gun back to Home Depot and talked to one of the employees and explained my problem. He admitted grease guns could be tempermental and he took out the problem cartridge and popped in a new one. After a couple minutes, he had the same problem. Then he got a fresh gun and loaded a fresh cartridge. That worked so I took that gun back home and thought my problem was a fluke. Well . . . I got home and greased the first zerk without a problem. Then I went to the second one and . . . BAM . . . another air pocket. I pumped that thing 50 - 80 times thinking I could force the air out and get on with my task, but it wouldn't work. I have a full size gun at home and I've never had this happen, so I'm blaming the Mini-gun. Maybe it's the cartridges. Whatever, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

The problem is not air pockets, but a poor piston seal which allows grease to leak around it. The grease is not being forced into the pump. I tried to replace the seal with a larger one but cheap construction and poor design will not allow it.

Out of the box, failed to work. Took it apart and refilled it half a dozen times before it finally worked. Previous review was right on the money in that it was probably the air pockets or something. I finally got it working when I removed the grease from the cartridge entirely and just direct loaded it and disassembled and reattached every component. How long will it keep working? Who knows, but I suspect it will be a headache forever. It works presently, so I will not go through the trouble return it, but I would not recommend it to anyone.
