Customer Reviews

3.5 lb. Double Bit Michigan Axe with 36 in. American Hickory Handle is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Go with the cheaper option If you are looking for a basic all around axe, go with the cheap, basic brand from from the closest store that has it. This axe was very disappointing. The shaping was terrible, there were apprentice marks everywhere and the bevels were ground unevenly. Even worst, the bevel was ground so horribly that the edge was 3/16" thick in some places and still had black paint on it. It will take a good hour or two with a grinder to even make this axe useable for cutting evenly. Save your money, either buy cheaper or throw more cash at it for a decent brand

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product This product seems well-built and sturdy. It is light enough that it makes it easy to use, but it is also heavy enough to make splitting effortless.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like that it's two sided I have a lot of trees around the house and this axe is perfect for trimming the roots around them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cheap Ax head came off after 30 mins of use, head is held on with a glue similar to, "gorilla glue". Very disappointed with ludell.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst axe I have ever seen This is the worst axe I have ever put my hands on. I have had said axe for 3 months and the head just broke off. The first day I got it I went to cut a tree like you do and the head came lose after removing all the epoxy and putting in a proper wedge it still broke at the base of head I would not get another if you payed me too

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice axe, but... I would recommend this product, but would also recommend you have an adequate means of sharpening it when it arrives. Mine was very dull on one side and somewhat sharp on a portion of the other side. It certainly wasn't ready to use out of the box. When I ordered this axe, I also ordered a handheld sharpener, but the axe blade is so thick at the edge that it cracked the sharpener.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What I was looking for This is what I was looking for. This is a solid axe with a wooden handle. The fiberglass handles just don't hold up compared to hickory. The axe is dull when you get it, but it can be sharpened rather quickly. It has a nice heft as well.
