It is not intended for line level (120V) incandescent compatible LED lights which should (and do) work with conventional electronic dimmers. Dimmers labelled "incandescent, CFL, and LED" typically work with conventional 120V lights of those types. For any fixtures that use ELV (electronic low voltage) power sources you need an ELV compatible dimmer such as this model from Lutron. As a rule the ELV lighting you would use this dimmer to control can be either incandescent or LED. If you have conventional line voltage lighting buy a conventional electronic dimmer that is compatible with the three typical types of line level lights. Read Less

Answer:
The DVELV-300PH-WH is designed to control Electronic Low Voltage transformers that are driving 12 volt or 24 volt Halogen lamps. It is not rated to control LED lamps. We do make a model of Diva, model number DVCL-253P-WH that is designed to work with many manufacturers LEDs and will drive up to 250 watts of LED load. We are currently in the process of getting that product on to homedepot.com.

I purchased a Modernforms Loft LED fixture. The data sheet for the fixture says that it is "100%-10% dimming compatible with the following electronic low voltage dimmers". Only three dimmers (2 from Lutron) are supported for use with the fixture. The other Lutron model is SELV-300P. The other dimmer is a Leviton MLE03.1.

Answer:
The DVELV-300PH and the DVELV-300P are the same exact dimmer. The added “H” in the part number only indicates the type of packaging that it comes in. If the LED manufacturer is recommending the DVELV-300P, the DVELV-300PH will work the same.

Answer:
Preset means that you can adjust the brightness level using the small rocker on the left of the main rocker switch. When the main switch is turned on the lights will only brighten to the preset level. This is convenient if you always dim the lights. It avoids you having to turn the lights on and then set the brightness level every time. Very convenient!

Answer:
The slider that controls the dimming level is found to the right of the paddle switch. Wherever that is currently set will determine the light level at which the lights will turn on. You can adjust the slider to turn on at any light level you choose.

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for Modernforms Loft 24" LED Vanity Lights The ballast in the Modernforms Loft LED fixtures I purchased for a bathroom remodel require an ELV dimmer. At that time (2014) this was one of the two "qualified" dimmers. Initially shocked at the price I found that a conventional (incandescent) dimmer would not work at all. The DIVA ELV dimmer works perfectly dimming the lights to at least 10% before they shut off. The light fixtures produce a tremendous amount of light at full brightness and really need a dimmer to be comfortable (especially at night). Good product, works perfectly, easy to use. May 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dims Cree bulbs without noise Yes, this product is expensive. But after trying a good number of different dimmers, each one would leave the Cree bulbs humming angrily in my light fixture. This dimmer works without causing the Cree bulbs to buzz! Be advised: You will need a neutral connection in the box where you install this switch. My house (~15 years old) had the connection. April 16, 2015
