Answer:
usually the manufacturer of the lights themselves will have a list of suggested Dimmers. if you get the wrong one it could cause buzzing of the light fixtures and inconsistent dimming function. check the light fixture box, instructions, or go online and look up the part number to see if there is a recommended dimmer for your fixture

Answer:
Unfortunately, this dimmer is meant for use with only incandescent and halogen bulbs. Lutron does, however, manufacture a model that is compatible with dimmable LEDs and CFLs (model # DVWCL-153PH-WH). If you do choose to use that model, please be sure to check out the compatible bulb list on the product page under Specification.

it would depend on the total wattage you're drawing if you put all three circuit through this switch. add up the wattage draw to make sure it doesn't exceed the 600 watts. If not you should be ok.

Answer:
With any analog dimmer, such as the Diva DVW-603PGH-WH, you would only be able to put the dimming in one location. The other 3-way location would need to remain a standard toggle switch, and it will switch on to whatever level the dimmer is set to. If you are looking to dim from multiple locations in a 3-way, then a digital dimmer such as the Maestro would be the best bet. With the Lutron Maestro series, Read More

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dimmer switch Works great and easy to install. Helps sets the mood in the dinning room. Thank you Home Depot! August 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not turn off led lights does not allow led lights to shut off. adjuster does not resolve issue. almost took a chainsaw to remove faceplate once installed on wall. returning May 8, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works well but buzzes a bit Bought this switch as recommended by manufacturer of a LED can light fixture and found that it still buzzes a bit no matter what the dimmer is set at. Be sure to check the manufacturer's recommendation for dimmer switch for LED applications. May 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not for use with fan/light combination We love this switch for regular lights, it works great in our bathroom, dining room etc. It does not work well with a fan/light combination. We installed these in our bedrooms that have fans and the fans make a humming sound. We thought the fans were getting old and needed to be replaced but decided to change the switch back to a non dimming switch first. That solved the problem. I would give it more stars for lights that don't have a fan, just wanted people to be aware that they don't put out enough power for quiet fan operation even when they are turned fully on. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by old switch replacement required The plastic pivot on the old switch had broken, and the rocker felt loose, so the switch had to be replaced. Simple procedure, to replace the switch. Turn the power off at the breaker. September 1, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No maximum briightness While this unit dims OK, it will not allow full voltage output and thus not full brightness. That's the way it gets its "eco" savings but the label does not warn you about this. In short, it works fine but only if you do not need the full original brightness of the lamp(s). I had to replace my 60 watt bulbs with 75's to get enough light when not dimmed. October 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy to install works great great dimmer switch and looks great to. a bit expensive but works great ease to install as I am a novice DIYer December 5, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works OK, didn't eliminate the hum I had purchased a new dimmer in hopes it would eliminate the slight hum I got from the old dimmer. It did not eliminate the hum. However I'll keep it because I might switch to CFLs later on and the old dimmer was not designed for CFLs. I'll try different light bulbs for the hum. The slider seems a little fragile but I'm not that hard on my fixtures so I think it will be ok. I sympathize with the other reviewer who commented on the difficulty of fitting modern switches into old house electrical boxes. I actually purchased this model because the back-end of the switch was smaller and more likely to fit that a less-expensive model I looked at in the store. So, I would say this might work just fine for your house. The instructions are good, the quality seems ok. January 5, 2013
