Answer:
This product is only rated to control a lighting load and is not recommended to control a fan motor. Instead, Lutron would recommend using the MA-FQ4FM-WH for a fan speed control in the same family.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 64 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sexiest light switch I've ever owned The butter smooth dimming from off to on and on to off is hard to hate, and the basic functions are so intuitive; you'll know how to use it almost immediately. The only downside this that it isn't 100% graunteed to work with all LED lights that are NOT listed on the compatibility list, so I would suggest keeping your receipt and packaging for a few days after install/use. Beyond that I would replace all the switches in my house with this one. October 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bye-bye old rocker switches... After our electrician replaced our old T12 fluorescent bulbs that were providing indirect lighting from our planter shelves on both sides of our hallway entrance with LED tube lights, he then installed these digital LED dimmer switches which now allow us to have the indirect lighting as dim or as bright as we like. They (we bought two) work great... October 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by works for only few days, no help from lutron October 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I blew 2 of these I blew 2 of these on my led fixtures. The wiring was correct, they are just not up to par and HD wouldn't allow me to return them October 25, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great when it works! There really isn't anything to compare to these switches - the soft dimming on and off features are great, and the true multi-location design allows you to actually control the brightness of the lights from multiple switches. However, I have purchased maybe 8 of these over time and twice I have received one that just flat out didn't work. One of them immediately snap-crackle-popped when I flipped the breaker, and the most recent one just did nothing. Fortunately my local HD store is only a few minutes away and always has plenty in stock. Outside of the random failures, I love these switches. They certainly aren't cheap, but they do look and function nice. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good product well built and safe. Easy to install, easy to operate. Just install like you took the other switch out. September 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the best dimmers The Maestro dimmer is one of the best most versatile dimmer switches I've ever used , it can be used as a standalone dimmer or as a three-way dimmer with one ordinary three-way switch at the other end so you don't have to purchase a special companion Dimmer October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Dimmer Ever! Easy Installation and these work great with pretty much any bulb which having that flexibility is incredible as more bulb types become available in LED. We have these in our bathrooms and dual switches in our kitchen for about 4 months now with no issues. The green LED indicator is nice so with one quick glance you can tell whether the lights are fully on or partially dimmed. I see Lutron also makes a ceiling fan/light remote control module for about $54 that I will soon be experimenting with to replace the multitude of controllers we currently have with their annoyingly small buttons.
