Answer:
No this type of switch does not dim the lights. You have to buy a switch with a dimmer slide combo unit.

Answer:
This product does not dim the lights. You must buy a unit that controls the fan and has a built in dimmer. Remember to use bulbs that can be dimmed.

Answer:
This product will only switch the lights on and off and will not dim them. The version of this product that you can use to dim both the lights and the fan would be the S2-LFSQH-WH.

Answer:
I wouldn't recommend it. There is a small slide inside and I don't think it could handle the current for too long a time before it starts to arc.

Skylark 1.5 Amp Single-Pole 3-Speed Slide-to-Off Fan and Light Control - White is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good price the this product This fan and light switch is well worth the money. This was a replacement for the same type of switch witch started to arc after a few years. I hope the new one will last longer. Either way it's still a good price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Simply amazing. Just what I was looking for to place in 3 bedrooms. Handles 4, 800 lumen (7W), LED bulbs and a 52-inch Hampton bay fan with no issues at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Fan Control This controller works as advertised with a rocker switch for On/Off light control and a 3-speed fan control. This format of fan control works best when you have non-dimmable CFL bulbs in your fan. Note: most CFL bulbs cannot use a standard dimmer circuit - there are speacialty dimmable CFL bulbs coming on the market but they are not yet economical for most uses. You will need a 3-wire drop to your switch box (either 14/3 or 12/3 depending on whether you're on a 15 Amp or 20 Amp circuit) for the connections. The control connects easily and works well. Everything needed is in the package including very good instructions and wire nuts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but not for CF lights. After spending time on the phone with Lutron, I learned that this product requires 45 watts minimum for the light switch to function. Lower than 45 watts and it won't turn the light on and off reliably and may result in damage to the switch. An incandescent or halogen light would be fine, but a CFL or LED simply isn't pulling enough power to make the internal triac work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for ceiling fan with CF light I bought a Hunter fan recently that had a CF light kit (compact fluorescent). Those lights cannot be dimmed with conventional dimmers and I have no experience ever with the new "dimmable" CF bulbs. I decided that having a non-dimmable light was ok for this application (a guest room), so I bought the fan. This combo control was easy to install and operates just as expected. It is of higher quality than the sliding decora switch offered by Hunter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Light switch shorts out I have these switches in 4 rooms in our house. It really seems to be the only option for regular CF bulbs. However, I would not recommend them. I have had to replace 2 so far because the light switch has shorted out. I hate go back to incandescent bulbs, but I absolutely would not buy these switches again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These work great Had an electrician install them due to my health and didn't take him that long at all to install 4 of them

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good switch I built my house approximately 10 years and have a half a dozen of the switches in it. After 10 years two or three of them have gone bad. Replaced with the same switch though to avoid having to figure out the wiring of a new switch.
