This wall switch does the job. Easy to install and controls the fan speed nicely. It has an off/on switch so you can leave the slider set where you usually have and just turn the fan off or on and it will automatically spin at your preferred speed with no hum.

I had purchased electronic radio wave ceiling fan controllers & had lots of problems . (1) I had to many radio control items in my home and they all needed t o be adjusted not to interfere with each other. (2) after adjusting them ham radio operators moved in next door , and because of the inference they all had to be readjusted again . (3) Finally getting them all working together , the static electric burned them out when I touched them. Saying all that , these slider controls had no such problems & they work great.

Quiet at low to high speed I was hooking this up to two outdoor fans but 1.5 amp will only run one fan so it blow out after about a hour of being on

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by BJernigan Do Not Use for Fan Speed Control
This may mot be a problem for all fans but for the Hunter brand fan i bought with this, it caused a very loud electrical huming sound at all speeds. After a quick google searh i discovered that these types of dimmer switches are not designed for fans and may cause problems. Otherwise works good for the light portuon of the fan

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Airaddict Great product! Doesn't work with CFL's
This lightswitch was very affordable looks great and easy to use. It however does not dim with CFL's. As advertised. I will be taking it back off and buying another one that actually does work with CFL's. I would recommend this product to anyone that is not using CFL's

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gonzo Functionally well-designed
When our old fan control fried itself out, I ended up replacing fan controls throughout the house to be on the safe side. This Skylark model was the perfect fit in terms of design and functionality. Easy installation and smooth operation versus the original controls that came with my ceiling fan, which was a clunker. A+ all around!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DIYMoe Cheaply Made
Doesn't even have screws to hook the wire to. Forced to twist a copper wire with their aluminum wires they have hanging out of the control. Creates congestion in the box because you need so many twist caps. Bad for Heat dissipation especially with other wires in and out of box or even a double gang box with another switch sharing the box.
