I need single wall control unit to control speed of 3 ceiling fans

Asked by: Leif
This product is not rated to handle more than a single fan. Lutron's solution would be to use the control MA-FQ4FM and a single canopy module, the CM-FQ1, at each of the fan locations.

Can I use a TGFSQ-FH-WH fan control toggler to operate a squirel cage blower motor located in a gas fireplace?

A standard SPST toggle switch operates the fireplace blower motor now (on-off) but, I would like to be able to reduce the speed as necessary to reduce noise. I would think a ceiling fan and a small blower motor in a fireplace would be a similar application.
Asked by: Handelbar
This product is only compatible with 3 speed fan motors so if your motor is not three speed, then this switch will not function correctly. If this is the case, you would want to look for a solid state or variable speed fan control.

I used this switch to replace an existing on/off switch for a ceiling fan. The switch was easy to install and works great. The fan happens to be on an Arc Fault breaker so occasionally moving the slider on the side will trip the breaker while on. The breaker is very sensitive and will also trip if we plug a vacuum cleaner into an outlet in the room (I suspect the breaker is bad). The three speeds have good variation with the lowest speed providing just enough air movement to keep the room fresh. All in all a very good product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fan control wors very good. This control works better than the control that came with the fan. It slows the fan just a little slower than the control that came with the fan. It helps distribute the air a bit slower, we use it in connection with our air conditioner to spread the cool air more evenly around the living room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will Buy More I installed one of these ~2.5 years ago for a fan with a light kit. This controls the fan; the light is on a dimmer. I just did the same set-up over the weekend in another room and everything works great. It's a great option for a fan where you don't want to use a remote. Cheaper than other options and gives you the flexibility to run your fan how you want.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ceiling fan dimmer Needed a fan control for ceiling fan. Needed the dimmer to fit into a switch plate with 4 switches. Works and fits perfectly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Trick! It wasn't until I started looking for a 3-position fan switch that I found out there are very few available on the market to choose from. Our home was built within the last 5 years and those rooms which had ceiling fans originally all had fan switches installed. When adding one however we needed to replace the non-used toggle switch with this in order to facilitate fan speed adjustments from the floor. Thankfully the design of the switch hadn't changed in 5 years and install was very easy with basic wiring skills, same as any switch replacement. Looks good and functions great. They're not cheap but they work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wife loves it..... so do I. Very easy to install. Instructions for either single or 3 way operation are clear and easy to understand. Contains verbiage and wiring diagrams. No more getting a step stool to set the speed in our vaulted ceiling living room. The wife can do it herself. With fan set to run on high speed, the switch gives us high, medium , and low speeds comparable to "pulling the chain". The Master bed room will be next.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk The fan would only work on the highest setting, otherwise the lights would flicker. I bought a more expensive switch and it worked perfectly.
