The only difference between the two is the type of packaging that they come in. Internally they are the exact same product.

Hello James.
I have never seen a 4-way dimmer switch. They might be out there, but my guess is they are not. It may not matter though depending on what you want to do.
If we are talking about a typical 4-way switch network, there are 3 switches. For reference, I will attach a wiring diagram:
1) Line end 3-way switch where the power source is (SW1 in the diagram)
2) Middle of network which would require a 4-way switch (SW2 in the diagram)
3) Load end 3-way switch that goes to your light (SW3 in the diagram)
There are many that say you can install a 3-way dimmer switch either at the line end (SW1) or the load end (SW3) and there are some that say you can exchange both ends with 3-way dimmer switches. In my personal work, I have installed a dimmer at the load end (SW3) and all worked fine. Obviously the dimmer must be a 3-way dimmer and not a standard single pole type.
In this setup, you should be able to turn the light(s) on and off at all 3 locations and the Lutron Toggler dimmer would be the only location to adjust the brightness. This was fine with me. If you want to control brightness from more than one location, Lutron makes 3-way dimmers, their Maestro series for example, that will do that at a bit higher price.
Use this as advice only. I am not a licensed electrician and there are many variable that may or may not effect your project. Hope this helps. Read Less

Answer:
I have the package and it really doesn't say what its control capacity is. You could use it on a 20 AMPERE CIRCUIT BUT IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO GET 20 ampere's OF LED LOAD. 10 60 watt equivalent LED bulbs would be about 1` Ampere. So if you had a 20 Ampere LED load it would be the equivalent of 200 60watt equivalent LED bulbs

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 157 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not for all LED bulbs This is only approved for certain bulbs on their list. Make sure that you check it before you buy this dimmer switch. Even then, some people say they have trouble with approved bulbs. When I installed it, I got an annoying buzz when I dimmed the LED lights. I would try a different type of dimmer. October 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT DIMMERS We use the dimmers in all our bedrooms, works perfectly! easy to install and you just need your LED light bulbs and you are done! October 11, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works well to dim LED bulbs that I use it for. However, at mid ranges of brightness, there is a hum from the bulbs. Not sure if it is caused by the bulb or the switch but you should be aware of the possibility. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CFL-LED Dimmer Switch The dimmer switch can be wired as a single pole or 3-way. I bought this dimmer switch for my newly installed LED accent lights. The adjustment range is from full brightness to a low illumination. It won't completely shut off. The only real drawback is the 1-2 second delay from when the switch is in the ON position and the lamps turn on other than that it works like I wanted it to. October 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lutron toggler 3 way switch Was defective out of the box. Would not work:-/ Will return as soon as I can September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good choice Dimmer works well. Very adjustable. Works with LED lights. September 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Installed for LED light I bought this to use with a new LED light fixture in my kitchen. I had a 3 gang wall plate and replace the existing on/off switch. The dimmer switch fit with no problems and controls the LED light with no flicker at all. September 20, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good dimmer, but not for CFL. This is a nice dimmer and works great for incandescent and LED, but did not work with CFL bulbs. September 20, 2016
