Answer:
The TG-603PGH-WH is only rated for incandescent/halogen lamps. The equivalent dimmer that is rated to control certain models of qualified, dimmable LED lamps is the TGCL-153PH-WH. However, I recommend speaking with someone from Lutron’s 24/7 Support line at 800-523-9466 to ensure that the LED has been tested and qualified for proper dimming performance.

Answer:
It depends of the style of dimmer you are using. Double gang boxes are common, and I've seen a variety of choices at home improvement stores.

No, you do not need a special plate. I put two of them together and they fit without any issue.

The original plate will fit. Dimmers fill up the same space as a regular switch. It would be a poor selling point to require a special cove for them.

No. The original cover works perfectly. Mine is the same way. The little dimmer lever takes up no more room than the original non-dimmer switch.

There is not a special wallplate that would need to be used when ganging these two dimmers together, as any standard toggle face plate will fit. These dimmers however do have 3 metal tabs on either side of the dimmer that stick out to help dissipate the heat the dimmer created. When you are ganging these dimmers together, you must remove the inner tabs on both dimmers so that they are able to fit into a 2 gang box. Keep in mind however that by removing one side of these tabs, you are decreasing the maximum wattage the dimmer can handle by 100W. So after removing one side of tabs, you would now only be able to put a maximum of 500W on this dimming control, but they will fit nicely under a standard toggle opening wallplate. Read Less

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ecco means keep a flashlight handy if you want to see well The energy reduction with this dimmer results in your lamps being very dim. Even at full brightness, with the dimmer in place, the 60 watt lamps in my dining room fixture gave off a warm glow. Very romantic, but not practical for other uses of the room when bright light is needed. Removed the dimmer per wife's instruction.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Important! Only goes to 85% brightness Note that the "eco-dim" means that the max brightness on this dimmer is 85% of full voltage. This is only on the tiny print on the back of the package. Once you've installed this you'll never be able take the lights to full brightness. Lutron makes a nearly identical dimmer that goes to 100%. I'd recommend getting that one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flicker Works great with http://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampton-Bay-120-Volt-Antique-Bronze-Standard-Flex-Track-Starter-Kit-EC053ABZ/100457277?cm_mmc=Shopping%7CTHD%7CG%7C0%7CG-BASE-PLA-D27L-InteriorLighting%7C&gclid=CJ3v59O2jsoCFViTfgodDNAP2Q&gclsrc=aw.ds and halogen bulbs however switched to LED-LE MR16 GU10 Bulbs 6.5 Watts and now have an intermittent flicker. Checked Lutron website and these bulbs do not appear to be compatible with this switch. LED bulb box lists these bulbs as dimmable so not sure what the exact issue is. LUTRONs pdf on compatible bulbs does say that there still could be a flicker...even with a "compatible" bulb. So...either Lutron has not figured out a way to make LEDs truly dimmable(no flicker) or my bulbs are actually not dimmable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One-year wonder This dimmer works fine...until it doesn't. I had about twenty of these (and higher priced models) installed in my custom home and they ALL failed within 18 months. Lutron refused to replace them under warranty, so I disassembled them and replaced the defective component (the TRIAC). There is insufficient heat-sinking on the TRIAC for any resistive loads over 250 watts. Adding a small heatsink fixed the problem in my units.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy, easy install The switch was very easy to install, the wires are clearly labeled and almost everything I needed was included. I just needed a screwdriver and some electrical tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well with my halogen light Although it did not specify whether it would work with a hal0gen it was priced well and worked well.
