#8 +\- 2.00° F (from Set Temperature)
#9 +\- 2.25° F (from Set Temperature)
Example: For tightest control, set swing setting on #1 which is plus or minus 0.25° F degrees. If you set the set point at 70° F, the highest it will get to is 70.25° F, the lowest it will get to is 69.75° F.

Answer:
Lux Customer,
Yes, there is an adjustable swing setting for this thermostat. It determines the cut-in and cut-out points for both the first and second stages (if present) , In both Heat and Cool mode. This works by turning your heating or cooling system on and off whenever the room temperature varies from the desired set-point temperature.
Thank You,

Answer:
To remove the front of the TX9100U or TX9600TS place your fingers on the top of the thermostat there is a tab which you will operate like a change purse to open the unit. Once opened you will see your 2 AA batteries; use Energizers or Duracell batteries as replacements.

Make sure you pick the right one! I just wired the same as my old thermostat, after determining what type HVAC system I have. I took a pic of the original wiring as well as wrote down what color wire was on what terminal. Some terminals on my original were labeled L1 and L2, on the LUX they are labeled just L and L2... L by itself is the same as L1. Go through the setup even if it appears to work right out of the box. There are a couple things in the setup that need to be changed. My second stage heat didn't appear to work correctly until I made a change in setup (I think it was the delay time).

Had an older version of this thermostat from about 15 years prior that had stopped working. This was a slightly different size but still works pretty much the same, screen is bigger, which is a help. Our system is very simple-- a 'gravity flow' heater, which is basically a box under the wall between the living room and the hallway that heats the air, which flow up through a grate in the floor. No fan, no A/C. Only two wires. Thermostat works fine for this. It comes with stickers so you can tag the wires in your existing system, and screws for mounting, you supply your own AA batteries. Only downside is a slight noise it makes when the screen lights up, which goes away after 10 seconds when the screen automatically goes off. Four settings per day, 7 per week. Once you set it up you're done. Controls are convenient.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product came with clear diagrams showing how to connect to your wiring and clear instructions on ... Product came with clear diagrams showing how to connect to your wiring and clear instructions on how to operate. I have a heat pump system with auxiliary and emergency heat, and 1 cooling stage. The t-stat turns the heating, and cooling, on and off as expected. In heating mode, with the swing setting at the lowest number, 1, my thermometer is showing a room temperature swing of WITHIN about 1.5 deg. So it keeps the room temperature pretty steady. In heating mode, the offset setting for the resistive strip seems to work. The t-stat shows "aux" when auxiliary heat is called for. However in cooling mode, even though my AC has only 1 stage, the t-stat is reporting "Stg. 2" whenever cooling is called for. Even if I set "offset" to 0, the t-stat reports that stage 2 is being called for. I took the t-stat off the wall so as to disconnect it from the wiring. Then I set the offset to 5. With the room temp at 74 deg F, I set the t-stat to call for cooling at 76 deg, then gradually reduced the setting. When I reached 73 degrees, the t-stat clicked to indicate it was calling for cooling. The word "cool" began flashing. And within a moment, the word "Stg. 2" came on. Whether both Y1 and Y2 were being energized I don't yet know. I'd need to make an adapter and connect my voltmeter. But the word "Stg. 2" suggests that 24 volt is being sent to both terminals, and would turn on both stages. This is despite the advertising and packaging material saying that the thermostat was appropriate for a 2-stage cooling system. It appears that it turns on both stages at once, negating the purpose of having a 2-stage system instead of single stage. At this point, I cannot recommend the t-stat for a 2-stage cooling system. In moderate weather your home will cool down quickly, and will stay cool, but the AC will not stay on long enough to adequately dehumidify your home. Also, while the characters on the LCD are dark, and crisp, the background is darker than any LCD I've ever seen, making the display hard to read in daylight. Pressing button and turning on the backlight does not help; it may make it worse. At night, if it is very dark in the room, the backlight is adequate. If the room has low levels of light, it will be too low to read the LCD, and turning on the backlight will not help much. That said, the product seems to control the temperature nicely.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tx9000Ua I purchased this thermostat to replace an old Lux 9000 which had served me very well. To be honest I wish they still offered them. This unit is a mess. The temperature reading is not accurate. It reads off by at least 2 degrees from other thermometers I have. Also the unit does not come on at the set degree. It comes on at least two degree sooner than programmed. It has a program that limits how many times it can come on per hour which causes problems with cycling. Also all the information to program this unit does not come with it. You have to go online and download part of the instructions and even then some of it is poorly written. I would suggest that others stay away from this model.
