Example: For tightest control, set swing setting on #1 which is plus or minus 0.25° F degrees. If you set the set point at 70° F, the highest it will get to is 70.25° F, the lowest it will get to is 69.75° F.

Answer:
Lux Customer,
Yes, there is an adjustable swing setting for this thermostat. It determines the cut-in and cut-out points for both the first and second stages (if present) , In both Heat and Cool mode. This works by turning your heating or cooling system on and off whenever the room temperature varies from the desired set-point temperature.
Thank You,

Answer:
To remove the front of the TX9100U or TX9600TS place your fingers on the top of the thermostat there is a tab which you will operate like a change purse to open the unit. Once opened you will see your 2 AA batteries; use Energizers or Duracell batteries as replacements.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lots of features...Great Price Very easy to install for different systems. Lighted display shows everything important. Easy to program and change if necessary. This was the best thermostat I found that did it all and still priced in my bracket. The comfort level is more consistent in maintaining what I select. Great unit. July 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Thermostat I have not yet installed this item but I am sure it will do a fine job when I do. May 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AN EXCELLENT BUY Bought this product about a month ago, easy install, very efficient and very user friendly. You cannot go wrong and it lights up at night beautifully and Im a happy customer February 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely perfect replacement thermostat Since Lux released a new revision of the TX9100U in 2014 I did not put much weight in the older reviews. I purchased the new TX9100U to replace our out-of-date thermostat that came with our new home. My main objective was to get something inexpensive that offered programming capability. The new TX9100U worked out very nicely. It was very easy to install in less than 15 minutes. I programmed the thermostat to kick down our heat to 62 at 11PM when we all go to bed and ramp the heat back on at 6:30AM when we get up; the programming works great and is sure to reduce our utility bills! and if I happen to be up late working I can easily temporarily override the program. I also like the large easy to read lighted display so I can read the thermostat display without reading glasses. The TX9100U maintains temperature at our desired set points and keeps our home comfortable. The new TX9100U did the trick for us at a decent price! November 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great unit for a very good price. We have 7 of these units controlling the steam heating in our old church. 6 of them have been installed for about 13 months and they have worked perfectly. We added the 7th one last month to replace one of the remaining old round units. When we first purchased them we noticed that there were 2 different temperature protocols being used- one was time based and the other was temperature swing based. These had different letters in their model numbers that could be found only after you opened the unit up but didnt show on the package! (go figure). We wanted the swing based units so I called Lux and they told me about the difference and offered to replace all the time based units at no charge. They were very helpful and they didnt even ask for the units to be returned first). It looks like almost all of the negative reviews here were complaints about the time based units.(I'm not sure that is the best description but that protocol used run time instead of temperature swing to turn on an off.) This unit did some unwanted things such as turning on at the preset time interval even if the temperature setting was satisfied - then immediately turning the system off again. Reading the replies here from Lux it looks like they have realized their error and are replacing the time based units at no charge. Bottom line- this is an excellent thermostat with all the important features at a very good price- And it's from a USA company that cares about its' customers and will go the extra mile to satisfy us. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install and easy programming, great product. Very easy to install. The programable features and lock out key pad makes it great for a office building. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really great thermostat I found the Lux thermostat to be easy to install, easy to program, and performs better than expected. In reading some of the negative reviews I would say many of those issues could have been due to how the unit was installed and/or programmed. Yes, it does take a little effort to get the cover off and replace the battery, but it isn't impossible and is certainly reasonable in my opinion. If you don't take the time to understand the wiring connections and the swing setting, then you can very easily be left feeling dissatisfied with your purchase. I have never installed a thermostat before and found this easy to install and get working. My unit is a heat pump so I followed the specific diagram for that unit type, made sure the 'jumper' wire they included was correctly hooked up, and it has performed better than my old thermostat ever did. Since summer I have used hundreds of kWh's less in power vs last year and the only thing that is different is this thermostat and my taking advantage of setting the swing as high as I can (9). I highly recommend this thermostat. July 28, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tx9000Ua I purchased this thermostat to replace an old Lux 9000 which had served me very well. To be honest I wish they still offered them. This unit is a mess. The temperature reading is not accurate. It reads off by at least 2 degrees from other thermometers I have. Also the unit does not come on at the set degree. It comes on at least two degree sooner than programmed. It has a program that limits how many times it can come on per hour which causes problems with cycling. Also all the information to program this unit does not come with it. You have to go online and download part of the instructions and even then some of it is poorly written. I would suggest that others stay away from this model. September 23, 2013
