Customer Questions & Answers

Is the Product thickness and depth 6 in.?

Asked by: Anonymous
No. The top rail is approximately 2 1/8" thick and the glass is approximately 3/16" thick. The instructions recommend a miter box to allow you to make straight cuts. I had to trim all of the pieces for a custom fit.

Will this door fit Sterling Accord Shower Kit that is 48" wide?

Asked by: Anonymous
Absolutely. That is the shower unit that I installed the door on and it looks great.

My fiberglass shower opening is 42 and 1/2" at the top but 42" at the bottom. Is there a way to shim this door to accommodate the discrepancy?

The shower stall is old but still in reasonably good condition. I see no way to correct the dimension of the opening so that the width at both the top and bottom is the same.
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, The tolerance limits for this door are 1/2" Adjustments are easy and are completed by adjustments to the position of the glide wheels on the upper track. I had to adjust mine about 1/4" and am pleased with the results!

Customer Reviews

Tonik 47-1/2 in. x 71 in. Frameless 2-Panel Shower Door in Chrome with Clear Glass is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased with the unit I have put in and taken out a few bypass doors on a shower and also a tub. Most others were cheep but did the job. Now for some this is a cheeper unit but the glass is thick and heavy and the wheels on the track have bearings so they move silent. The silver on the frame is all the way through unlike the gold on aluminum. If you get a scratch you can buff it out. I put it on a walk in shower (MAAX) and after measuring and cutting the top and bottom I realized too late all the pieces were almost to wide for the , shall we call it the lip the sides are fastened to. The top has one side curved for the outside and one flat for the inside. This was by far wider than the original I took off. So as there is no end piece to capI installed it then gooed in sealant let it cure for a day then went back to sort of mold a seal in the halfmoon. This halfmoon outside of the top is further out than the side of the shower. If you are going to purchase this unit then take into consideration the width of your mounting face. I had to excatily measure the mounting holes in the fiberglass and carefully tighten up the walls so as not to have the sides expand out larger than the surface which is also curved on the corners. I used actuall Silicone not caulk to seal this and also glew it before the last tighten of the mounting screws. Had to wait for this to cure. I considered taking it back as it sure made it a challenge to seat on the lip. When cutting the chrome bottom and top be careful not to just lay it on the bench and cut as any slight movement will scratch the surface. Make a wooden block for the inside of the top and wrap it in a towl up close to your cut. plus put masking tape over your cut as a wandering hack blade will scratch it. I think I would ad a stanless screw to afix the top so the inside endg is flat and square with the sides so the doors will close in the side track better , just a little off at the top and the door will not go in the side frame.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Color REALLY IS BLACK! I read the reviews and thought that some might be an exaggeration on the color. How can the color be black when it is stated that it is oil rubbed bronze? Maybe the others where expecting a lighter colored bronze. I have delta venetian bronze colored fixtures and they are a very dark bronze. I even saw another reviewer that said they had the same fixtures and this door went well with them. Well I received my shower door today and opened it immediately to check for damage and the color. The verdict is this shower door is LITERALLY BLACK!!!! I took it outside in the sunlight just to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. Make no mistake about it, there is no bronze in this thing. It is a flat black in color. It also took 17 calender days to receive it from my order date which is seven days longer than stated in the info provided. I haven't installed it so I cannot speak on quality or ease of installation. In fact after this review I am calling the manufacturer to see about returning it. If I'm not losing too much I will be returning it and purchasing one that may be more expensive but is actually some type of oil rubbed bronze.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware, this is NOT a bronze finish I ordered this shower door online and was extremely disappointed when it arrived. It clearly was NOT an oil rubbed bronze finish (or even an earth tone bronze finish) as described. The finish was black....just black. I felt very misled by the online description. It didn't match any of the other oil rubbed bronze finishes in our bathroom and we had to return it. Do NOT order this product if you are looking for an oil rubbed bronze finish!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding quality and ease of installation My wife and I shopped for doors in the finish we wanted and style we wanted only to be agast at the price range we were finding. However, we ordered the MAAX doors at a reasonable price. When it came in, I was nervous about trying to install it ourselves, because our do-it yourself projects have gotten us into trouble more than once. But the instructions are very simple. Every part is labeled clearly and packaged in such a way to make installation a breeze. We had it fully installed in about two hours and it looks perfect. We could have had it done quicker, but drilling the holes into our ceramic tile turned out to be quite a chore, even with a masonry bit. All in all, I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice doors. we love them i am very pleased with everything. The shipping was a little slow but it was the holidays and I guess that slowed things down a little. The doors look great and they match all other fixtures that I bought. They were easy to install and easy to keep clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful doors! We wanted an expensive look without the expensive price and got it. While there are cheaper doors to purchase and these doors weren't "cheap," the doors are certainly a less expensive option than custom. Installation was easy as well. My husband, who is handy but hires many jobs out, had no trouble installing. We are very happy with this product and plan on replacing more doors using this brand in our home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a really good quality for the price. The shower door is great quality and is exactly as pictured. We were very pleased with the door. Other reviews said the color was darker than expected but it seems to match our delta oil rubbed bronze fixtures very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty nice product The only thing I would point out is that it is darker than the oil rubbed bronze color on our moen fixtures. It's not so bad that it looks terrible, but of course being the one who installed everything I noticed it.
