I picked out this tile because the display piece was a nice tan color. The other pieces on the shelf were the same color with a few dark streaks here and there. These were special order so after I ordered 16x16 and some 12x12 tiles and got them home and opened the boxes alot more were darker brown than I was expecting. I was really wanting the lighter tan without the heavy brown accents. Overall it worked out good and looks decent. My warm grey grout became too washed out but I should have known better and got 2 shades darker. Even with only rinsing the grout twice it still faded it almost to a super light grey.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by shorthoneys Disappointed in the color variation of this tile
I purchased over 1000sf of this 20" tile online, sight unseen for an immediate project. I was very disappointed that almost every tile is completely ivory and very, very light!!! I didn't have a single piece with the heavy brown/beige coloring like shown in the listing photo. I did not experience any problems with the tiles being off in size, but I had a few warped tiles that I had to discard. I am thinking of returning the remaining 900sf for something with natural looking color variation that will hide the abundance of sand that gets tracked into my house. I used this in my entry at a diagonal paired with 20"x7" wood like tiles. The overall look is stunning, but will not hide the dirt as I anticipated when I carefully selected a tile for that very purpose.

We installed 1000 sq ft. this floor in our previous home and I didn't have to think twice about what to put in our new home!! This is the easier floor to keep clean and it is gorgeous. We got tons of compliments on it and I love it just as much today as the day we first installed it about 5 years ago. Yesterday my husband installed it in the new home and wow! Beautiful!! Easy to care for! Great price! You can't go wrong with this neutral floor.

My husband and I installed this tile oursleves (along with Marrazzi 6 in. Belluno) in our kitchen/dinning 3 years ago, it turned out absolutely gorgeous, and still looks perfect!
This floor has taken a beating. 4 kids, and many dropped dishes, have not had any affect so far. We are now in the process of finishing a basement bathroom and ordering this same tile online because our local HD no longer carries it.

Laundry and two bathrooms were too small to use 20" tiles so the 16 x 16 inch tiles were the perfect size. Great color and everything as expected. Only wish that it wouldn't have taken a month to get them.

Anyone who has laid tile knows the work involved, and that often a tiling job depends as much on workmanship as the tile and grout selection.
Having said that, a number of years ago, I selected the Montagna Cortina and Montagna Sorrata (sp?) for two baths and much of my lower level (dining, kitchen, hall).
The tile is not a budget tile, and I had to special order it because they quit carrying the Montagna series at my local Home Depot. I ordered 15 boxes and will need 10-15 more to complete the job.
The Montagna series is going for the Italian look. It has a lot of color variability and some random texturing. I have found it works well in baths as it still feels a bit grippy even when wet. The Cortina is more of a light tan base, and the Sorrata is reddish. They complement each other pretty well. Both look pretty good with the medium oak trim wood that contractors use for bulk house builds. I wanted a tile that is more than just a dull beige, but doesn't distract from the rest of the house (paint, trim, decorations).
If anyone is wondering about tile size, I really like the 16" square, rather than 12". It lays so much faster, and there is less grout to do.
In the picture below is my hall - I centered the tiles in the hall. It is 60" wide and the tiles make it feel wider than that.
My system is the Hardiebacker 500, with the pre-mix grout and gray pre-mix mortar, all from HD. Pretty much all my tools (wet saw, float, etc.) all came from the QEP product they carry.
A word on the bag of dry thinset mortar mix. If you're scared to try it because it is reputed to be hard to work with, give it a try. Go online and find the proper mix ratio if you're not going to use the whole bag and mix it to the directions. My first batch was perfect. I like the pre-mix mortar, but the dry mix is a lot less expensive.
I used 12" Montagna Cortina for my master bath about 18 months ago. It still looks beautiful and is fantastically easy to clean.
