Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jockgirl45 Whole lower level remodel, love this floor! Looks like wood!
We just had our whole lower level updated, and we chose this tile. Even the crew was jealous of how good it looked (we had it professionally installed, we did not DIY this one)! We didn't want the finished look to be a "pretty tiled floor"; we wanted it to look like a hardwood floor. So, we chose a 1/8" grout line, and grout in New Taupe. The result is phenomenal. We can't stop staring at the floor when we're down there. Our remodel included a living room, bathroom, and bedroom. In case you're curious, the bathroom, trim, and beadboard wall are all Swiss Coffee, and the other walls are Behr Castle Beige.
We could not be happier with the finish look of this project!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JeffreyK I can't believe what a difference the new floors made in our remodeled bathroom.
(Review by JeffreyK's wife) We're restoring an old Victorian which, at first, I thought should have been condemned by the city. However, the first project my husband tackled was the tiny 2nd floor bathroom, which wasn't Victorian era (it must have been added decades after the house was originally built). He stripped the floor down to the bare wood, and laid down this ceramic tile. The tile has a wood grain texture with lots of character and details. It would have been nice to leave the original floors wherever possible-- but in a tiny bathroom that three boys will be using, there's no way I wanted to deal with a porous surface. You know how boys are. :| I wanted something I could clean up regularly without damaging it.
The ceramic is PERFECT. It coordinates nicely with the tile from the shower stall, and the vanity that I picked out. After seeing how nice the floors are in this tile, I've finally stopped worrying about what we got ourselves into with this old house. I'm EXCITED about it now (believe me, I was sweating about this house purchase until this point). We have a few other rooms with weak floors that have given way over time, and I'm waiting for the next flooring sale so that I can stock up on more of the Montagna Rustic Bay tile. I've always loved real hardwood floors, but I'm shocked at how much I love these ceramic floors.
I want these wood-look-tiles for the kitchen, too, and possibly the boys' rooms. I could see myself going a little crazy with the ceramic tile... as a mom of four (with 3 dogs), I can't help but be excited by how much EASIER my life is about to get, when we move into a house with easier-to-clean and GORGEOUS flooring.
I'm itching to get started on the Kitchen. It looks like a train wreck NOW, but it's exciting to wonder what he'll do with that space.
This bathroom project has convinced me that my husband knows what he's doing-- but please don't tell him that. He'd be just unbearable.

these have a slight curve and are (naturally) very heavy. because of that, if you use SimpleMat to install these (on a wall anyway) you will need to apply extra adhesive in the middle of each full tile. they also have a wonderful texture but that means that cleaning the grout off of them is pretty difficult.
i used them as a shower surround. they're lovely. for some people that might be too dark for an enclosure though.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Oneiceberg LOVE LOVE LOVE this floor!
When I decided to "re-do" a bathroom, I was going to put in vinyl flooring (wet room, etc.) mostly due to the ease of installation and expense. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the vinyl didn't work out, and my contractor suggested porcelain tile. I didn't want the hassle and expense of trying to reinforce a raised floor, but he assured me he had a "backer" that would work just fine.
I'll save everyone the novel and tell you the floor is BEAUTIFUL. It completely set the tone I was trying to achieve, and it looks a thousand times better than the vinyl would or could. The best part? The cost for the vinyl and the cost for the tile was almost exactly the same! The tile ended up being about $150 more due to grout and sealer, but oh is it worth it!
I've included pictures - ignore the walls, we weren't quite finished with the paint/trim touch-up after the floor demo!

This tile is beautiful. I put it on a wall but wouldn't hesitate for a moment to put it on a floor or in a shower. Looks so much like REAL old wood.

I installed this in my bathroom that I gutted. I had experience installing simple wall tile, but had never done a floor with long porcelain planks. The cost was very cheap, but the quality did not reflect that. I did my walls in white subway tile with Delorean Gray grout, so I used the same color grout on the floor, even though the suggested color was New Taupe. I could not be more happy with the results. I would definitely purchase this again.

SOOO very pleased with this wood look tile. Has enough color variation in the wood look to make it actually look like it's real... not just 'grey'. Durability of tile makes this such a great choice for anyone who likes wood flooring without the worry of scratching the floor or having to refinish... install and enjoy for years to come!! seriously!
