Now being several projects in I can say this is a pretty solid tool. It's like the Goldilocks of nailers... not too big, not too heavy, but not too small and weak. The head has a nice bite, it makes toe-nailing pretty easy. Seems to be a little better at dealing with misaligned nails in the strip than other guns i've used; i.e less misfires. Depth adjustment works well, although can be a little hit and miss if you're chugging along. Overall great tool, and sure as heck beats hammer!

I was not super familiar with Max products before getting this one. After some research, I learned that Max is a long time leader in nailers and this one was no disappointment. The nailer shoots consistently with minimal mis-fires or jams. It is well balanced and not too heavy making it comfortable for even those all day projects. Once you have used a pneumatic nailer like this you will never want to go back to a regular nail and hammer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sdgiant 7 pounds, compact, and plenty of power
Put this side by side with your nailer. You'll be amazed at the size difference. My Bostich N88 has a body about twice the size, although the magazine is of similar size. The first thing you notice is how well the nailer centers on the trigger. With the smaller weight and compact head, it's much easier to stabilize the gun when shooting at an angle.
I tested the gun out with 3" HDG ring shank Hitachi nails. The nailer shot them in a little too far at 90PSI at initial settings, but the nose adjustment on the gun lets you back the pressure off easily. Will definitely be able to drive 3 1/4", do note that like many nailers these do not drive 3 1/2"
This nailer does take 3/8" intake, all my others take 1/4" right now. Something to consider if you want to share them, but not a big deal.
Well packed for shipping. Double boxed with good supports. Free safety goggles are a nice touch, even if just as a reminder to be safe!
Great nailer. Plenty of juice, and easy to wield. Definitely recommend it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ThisOldGarageNJ WOW....What a Nailer !!!
This is a very nice heavy duty Made but lightweight (7lb) framing nailer. As usual, Home Depot shipped it quickly and it was well packed to insure no damages.
I unpacked it and threw on a 3/8 male air fitting (They do not include one), They do however include a nice pair of safety glasses. I decided to give it a try on the compressor I use for finish nailing so I wouldnt have to drag out my big one. At 80 lbs pressure I found the nailer to work flawlessly, Depth ajustment can be controlled by air pressure or the adjustment knob on the back of the nailer and I got about a half inch adjustment out of it. Even worked well on my small compressor.
The nailer has a nice big trigger. You can pull the trigger before contact and it will fire (one shot) as a bump nailer, Or you can make contact and nail a single shot, you can also remove the SAFETY behind the trigger and it will rapid fire contact nail for operations such as sheething. It holds 84 nails fullly loaded.
Its a great nailer , that feels good in your hands, and feels and looks like it will provide years of service wheather you are using it part time or full time. A good investment for the money. I have a good friend that is a contractor whose birthday is coming up and I think I just found the perfect gift.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mark WOW! Qaulity, Performance and Power!
This is not your typical framing nailer, there is a reason they have given it the name "Superframer". This framing nailer packs a lot of power and features.
I was blown away when i fired this gun up, after reading the instructions and installing the 3/8" mail compressor adapter (not included) I was ready to go. They do however provide a nice pair of safety glasses. The gun worked flawlessly, no jams, shot down to the very last nail. The kickback is minimal compared to others, and isn't an issue for me. Using this gun on an all day project has its perks. The light weight, as well as size make it a great addition to any tool set. This is a professional series gun, and it has proven itself to be one.
The nails drove in perfectly and effortlessly, haven't had any double shots or miss fires yet! As well as having single shot trigger, it boast the bump and tap option which is enabled by removing the safety block. This feature proved useful for repetitive actions.
Another great feature is the fact the gun filters and cleans its self when the air hose is removed. This nailer is AWESOME!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dcmikez Great framer, excellent quality
This is a great framer. It's lighter than most framers I've worked with and has some great safety features. It's also smaller than most framers (see photo) so you can actually get it between joists to sink a nail at a 90 degree angle. In it's price range this tool can't be beat.
I used it for an entire day and it was great. Its easy to switch from single fire to contact fire and it has a built in anti-double firing mechanism. I had no issues with jamming or misfires. The depth adjustment is easy to set and works great. It's comfortable to use and powerful.
This is a heavy-duty construction-grade tool. It comes with a pair of safety glasses, which is funny as if you're ordering this you probably have a dozen pairs already.
It does not come with the nipple for the compressor tube so you'll have to buy that separately. No big deal there.
It also has a built in filter at the air intake to keep dust out of the tool. This should greatly increase lifespan of the tool and should ensure that it works smoothly over time.
From what I know, Max has only been in the US market for a few years but they're a Japanese company with a long history. This is a great gun and I'm happy I have it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RednexToyz My new 'Go-To' framing nailer!
YES! My new 'Go-To' framing nailer!!!
Packaging: Item came well packaged & included a set of safety glasses. Found that the exterior of the packaging was designed with the consumer in-mind by providing, at quick glance, the nail sizes, lengths, types, etc... Important when needing to know what to buy while in the store.
Assembly: This framing nailer does not include the air fitting. It features a 3/8" female thread for your fitting of choice. I chose to install a Type I/M, swivel air fitting to help relieve tension on the hose.
Nails: Takes 21° Full-Round strip nails. Smooth, Screw or Ring shank type; 2" to 3-1/4" long; .113"-.148" shank diameter; .267"-.295" head diameter. I've been shooting 2" Galvanized ring shank and not a misfire yet!
Operation: As you can see by the pictures, I found this nailer to work very well for sheathing with the 2" nails. Running a 1/4" hose @ 90 psi, I was able to dial the nailer in to a near perfect repeat with every nail set. The nailer features an adjustable set depth control right on the nailer allowing you to adjust the nailer as you work without the need to make air pressure adjustments. While making adjustments to their extremes (shallow to deepest) @ 90 psi, it allowed for about 5/16" of total depth adjustment. I found this feature to be very useful!!!!
Clean Air: The unit has a built-in air filter to prevent dirt & debris from making their way into the operating system of the gun. When you release the air line, the pressure within the gun blows the debris back out of the filter & air fitting helping to "clean itself" each time you use it ... prolonging the life. Don't forget to oil it once in a while to keep the operation smooth.
Weight/Size/Loading: The gun is easy to use all day & fit in spaces & at angles I didn't think I could get it into. At just over 7#, it was the lightest of the gun's I’ve handled. The compact design also allows for you to fit it in tighter spaces. Loading was quick & easy. Had no misfires and it even shoots right down to the last nail in the clip. Wondered how so I read the manual further to find that it has a magnet in the head that helps it shoot every last one!
Actuation: The gun is set, in the package, to 'Single Actuation Operation'. Press the tip to the work piece, pull the trigger & it will shoot one nail. It will not shoot again until the trigger is released. You can't hold the trigger & "bump fire" without adjustment to the unit. Their definition of 'SAO' is: For SINGLE ACTUATIUON operation, keep the trigger pulled and depress the Contact Arm (tip) against the work surface, or depress the Contact Arm (tip) against the work surface and pull the Trigger and keep it pulled. Tool cannot fire a second nail until the Trigger is releases and tool can cycle.
The gun can be changed to 'Contact Actuation' or 'Sequential Trip' for those looking for faster nailing operations commonly used by contractors. Instructions on how to adjust the nail gun in this manner ARE included with the framing nailer.
Safety First: The framing nailier also features a trigger lock that I found slightly awkward at first to operate 1-handed but by the end of the day, the operation became second nature to the operation. This features locks the trigger against accidental depression and can be turned on/off by the user.
No-Slip Tip: I found that the "crown" design on the 'Contact Arm' (tip) worked very well. It allows the gun to stay on target without slipping from the work surface while shooting. Worked at every angle I put the gun thru this past weekend. From framing to sheathing to blocking, the MAX framing nailer performed with no flaws!
Results: I was able to frame a small structure in far less time than I could have with a hammer & nails. Using it for tasks mike sheathing might be out of its description but it worked for me. This robust tool has the feeling of durability & the performance to back it up.
Contractor Grade that I would not hesitate to put up against any other nailer in its class!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by AverageDude Good Strip Framer lightweight
I have not used a lot of framing guns so I don't have much to compare this to. I enlisted the opinion of a seasoned veteran. We did a small project with the framer and it performed fairly well. We compared it to another brand for some head to head testing. All in all this framer did well. I was very pleased with the overall function of the framer.
Funny thing. During our initial test, I dropped the framer once and it quit working. After a phone call or two, the company replaced the framer. I was impressed with the customer service. Customer service is very important one you are buying an expensive tool like this.
