I've had this 100+ pound delivered to me twice and now i have to haul it back to the store for a refund for a second time. BOTH TIMES the safe has been damaged, with missing parts and a complete mess. Will definitely buy from a competing brand as Mesa Safe Company cannot invest in proper packaging to properly protect their product. Nothing less to share as I've already wasted enough time with Mesa Safe Company... I don't blame Home Depot its simply a poor vendor they distribute.

It's well built, heavy, and feels very solid. However, it also came broken. There's an interior button that you need to be able to use to reset the passcode and that was broken. My advice - ship this to a local store, bring a 9v battery, and test it before you lug it up three flights of stairs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solidly built product I was looking for a safe with burgulary and fire protection, electronic lock, and a particular size to fit in a cabinet and this safe met all my needs. It is extremely solid...all metal, no plastic, and easy to use controls. Only minor issues that I had were 1. one of the tracks in side the safe that supports the shelf was not aligned with the others so the shelf doesn't sit level, 2. in the instruction manual, the section on installing the battery was towards the back, but the battery needs to be installed before you can use the controls, so make sure you do that first, and 3. there was minor shipping damage to a corner that resulted in a sharp edge (but that was taken care of with a file). These were very minor issues, and overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Mesa safe is solid and gives confidence that it will provide the security you want. A recent home burglary finally got me to admit I needed a home safe to provide burglar/fire protection I was lacking. Initially I looked at various safes commonly found at home improvement and department stores, but was very disappointed with what I found. Those safes generally did not have the look, heft or feel of a real safe, and as a result I did not have confidence they would provide the protection I was looking for. After doing substantial on- line research, however, I discovered exactly what I was looking for in a Mesa safe. This safe is all metal, not plastic, and looks and feels substantial. It has a 2-hour fire rating, is heavy (140 pounds) and has predrilled holes for bolting it to the floor. The digital lock is easy to use and reliable. After I installed this safe in my home, my wife and I finally have regained a sense of security that was lost when our home was burglarized. We are both very happy with the Mesa safe and literally now use it every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product for the price I searched diligently for a while to find a safe that was fire and burglary resistant. I read reviews and also watched a youtube video showing someone trying to bust into this safe, to no avail. Once I purchased the safe online, it was delivered to my home fairly quickly, and although the box was slightly torn up, the safe was in good shape. I like that it bolts to the floor. I like that it's sturdy and hefty. Someone (well, at least two people) could probably steal it if not bolted down, but it's heavy enough that it would take great effort to do so. Even then, it would take great effort to then physically bust the safe open. So far the keypad is working fine. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good size and price. This safe is just the right size for us, fits into a closet and you can hang clothes above such as shirts suits etc. Shipping was fast and when I contacted Mesa before the sale they answered me quickly. There website says it comes with an emergency key but just to make sure I sent a message to see if this was right and got an answer right away say it was so, then another message saying only some of them had a key but the CSR said he would look out for my order and make sure I got one with a key, which I did. This is where thing got complicated, I could not find anywhere to fit a key, when I wrote and asked where it goes I got an answer telling me where the key slot was located and that this was a common question. Why they don't tell you I don't know. All in all I am satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice safe, but can take a lot of time to setup ► UNPACKING This seemed to have some trouble in shipping, which I understand is not uncommon with safes, but it took a long time to clean up all the mess. First of all, there were bits of styrofoam and cardboard scattered about when I opened up the slightly damaged box. Then there were silica beads everywhere; I will be finding these things for months, I'm sure. The plastic that was supposed to be protecting the finish of the safe had been torn through and the safe was very dusty and there's a blemish on top of the keypad collar that I can't fix. Anyway, after a lot of vacuuming up styrofoam bits and silica beads, and thoroughly wiping down every surface of the safe, I had a nice-looking enclosure for my stuff. ► BATTERY Then it came time to set it up. Well, I couldn't do anything with it because it didn't have the battery it was supposed to come with. So fast-forward a day when I could go out and buy a battery for it and I'm back to setting up the key codes. The steps in the Owner's Manual are a bit off, because you can't do any of the first steps until the battery has been installed, which is inexplicably listed as the last step. Maybe if it had come with the battery already installed then that would make sense. ► KEY CODES After the battery was easily installed, everything else went pretty smoothly, although the manual could be clearer. There's also some confusion because the manual listed here on the Home Depot site is slightly different from the one that arrived with the unit. The online one has 3 default key codes; the shipped one only 2. Once you know the process, it's super easy to change the codes. ► INTERIOR & BOLTING I finally have access to the inside of my safe, where it's a mess of silica beads and 4 silica bags (with 1 bag burst open). Once I vacuum all of that up, I have a very clean-lined, carpeted interior with an adjustable carpeted shelf. There are 4 bolt holes in the bottom near each corner with plastic caps on the inside of the safe. The instructions for installing the bolts are very poor. There are also no instructions on whether or not the silica bags are still needed. ► FIRE PROTECTION I don't see how this is supposed to protect from fire with 4 openings for bolts in the bottom and enough of a gap in the door to spill all these silica beads. I imagined the caps on the interior would screw in and be constructed of a more fireproof material, but I was wrong. ► INCLUDED Override key with instructions on how to access the key slot, user manual, 1-year warranty card, registration card, 2 concrete bolts (wood lags not included), 2 spare mounts for shelf, 3 serial number tags, which is good because one was illegible (destroyed in the box damage).
