Hi,
I'm in the market for a new Moen.

I've read in reviews about problems with short battery life and having to reset the motion sensor due to non response.

Has this been addressed and fixed on any newer models?

Thank you!

I didn't have any trouble with having to reset the sensor; if you hold your hand (or the big pot you're washing) in front of the sensor for 6 seconds, the sensor turns off. The manual tells how to reset it.

Answer:
Depends on 6 AA batteries you use or if you hook up directly to AC using a kit not provided. Faucet works manually always and one or both sensors can be easily disabled or enabled with a wave of hand while faucet is turned on manually.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 136 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far so good I love the faucet so far. Nice features. Great purchase. September 6, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the price. Almost always leaks. If I were rating this product on looks alone it would be much higher. I had this faucet installed in a new build as an upgrade about 2 years ago. It looks great and in theory the motion activated feature sounds good but it does not live up to that theory. First off, I have had to take the handle off and tighten a plastic nut about 5 or 6 times since installation due to the faucet leaking out of the handle. I even had to get a piece from Moen (which they kindly sent free of charge and overnight so that is a plus). Now the faucet is leaking (dripping about once a second) out of the spout itself. For the price of this product with Moen's name on it I expected a much higher quality product. Secondly, the motion sense also does not live up to my expectations. You nearly have to touch your hand to the sensor to activate it. I was under teh impression that you could just wave your hand near it or maybe even under the spout and the water would turn on. I have standard Moen faucets throughout my home and am pretty satisfied with them all other than this particular one. I do not think that I can suggest buying one, and quite frankly after 2 years I will most likely replace this faucet with something else. August 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love This Faucet! This faucet was extremely easy to install and it has worked very well right out of the box. We decided to to turn off the lower sensor because of the wet sleeve issues we were having and it has been a delight to work with ever since. I LOVE that I do not have to touch to faucet to turn on the water to wash my hands. Less hands on the faucet means less germ spreading and a healthier home. I would highly recommend Moen and this faucet! May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The faucet was just as described The faucet was just as described and arrived as promised. Love the motionsense that allows you to turn on the water without touching the handle and the pull-down sprayer that makes it easy to direct the water in the direction needed. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MOEN Haysfield kitchen faucet ~ Worth Every penny! Has OPTIONAL battery pack to use in electric isn't an option!! My husband Refused to add another outlet under the sink just for the faucet to have a motion sensor, a friend of mine told me that it hers runs on batteries. So I checked into Moen's and it does too!! It has the option of electric or battery. You get what you pay for with these faucets!! After about 1 day I had fallen in love with this faucet!! I keep telling my husband because I love it that much!!! I was concerned it would look too modern for our home, but it doesn't! It's perfect! We LOVE it!! He said it was decently easy to install. February 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing customer service I love this faucet! I bought it two years ago and the hose just started leaking. I reached out to Moen to ask about a replacement hose and the same day received an email confirming delivery of a new hose - free of charge. Completely exceeded my expectations! It was very easy to install (and I am far from handy). I love this faucet and Moen's customer service!! February 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what I was hoping for! I talked my wife into buying the Moen Arbor Motionsense after much deliberation and several calls to her friend who owns a Delta touch faucet. Now, she is glad I talked her into it and I have bragging rights for awhile. Touch vs. Motion debate: My wife wanted a touch model because she was not fond of the sensor on the faucet base and on the top of the faucet or the blue led that comes on when the sensor is activated. To her, it reminded her of a faucet in a public restroom and she feared functionality would be similar. I wanted touch because the physical look of the touch less model compared to the touch models available at Home Depot or Lowes was much better. I also liked the idea of the water turning on when you placed something under the faucet that requires both hands to hold. When cooking, my wife will often have both hands dirty and having to touch the faucet with dirty hands seemed to defeat the purpose. After a week of use, the touchless functionality works great and my wife and I really enjoy the fact that you don't have to touch the faucet to wash your dirty hands. A great non-advertised fact is the you can easily disable and enable one or both of the sensors by simply turning on the faucet manually and then holding your hand over the sensor for 5 seconds. Installation: This was my first time ever installing a faucet of any kind so I went slow and deliberate throughout the installation. To my surprise, installation was extremely easy and smooth. The most difficult part of the job was removing the old faucet and hardware. Quality: I have never before bought Moen so was unsure of what performance to expect. I have mostly bought Delta or Kohler products. I am pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of this product. It looks, feels, and functions like a quality product which are really the most important features you could ask for a $399 dollar faucet. After doing much research online, the Kohler sensate and other touchless faucets were listed from $600-$900. I am extremely happy with the purchase and with a lifetime warranty feel comfortable that I will get many years of happy use from this product. I was so excited about the new look I added a push button switch for my garbage disposal to one of the no longer needed holes in granite counter top. Boom...instant modernization and improved functionality to my kitchen. October 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Moen Faucet -handsfree Attractive and functional. We like that you can have the faucet run 3 ways. A bit expensive, but the hands-free feature is great when cooking. February 23, 2016
