I have a newer kitchen faucet that has plastic internals. Our city water supply has enough minerals in it that over time the faucet now squeaks every time you open and close the faucet valve. An older bathroom faucet we have with metal valves does not do this. I want metal !

This mixer is composed of two materials in their inward parts, plastic and metal.. All deteriorates with use and even if the water supply is heavy. I recommend installing a water softener and occasionally use a lubricant for taps

Michelle, without seeing the actual faucet, it will be hard to diagnose the problem. It could be several issues.
1.) The Turn-off valve is not completely in the open position.
2.) The Turn-off Valve is in need of replacement.
3.) The plastic gasket located between the sink body and the faucet is not lined up properly causing an obstruction.
4.) There is debris or other obstruction in the faucet aerator

Answer:
You may want to check your hot water shut off to make sure it is on full. If not disconnect the the hot water supply line from your fixture. Turn water on to see if you have pressure. If you do call Moen and ask them. It may be your cartridge or deserter.

This model shows 1.5 gallons usage and others show 2,2 and 2.5 gallons. Does that effect the flow and pressure?

Answer:
Yes, it does impact flow a little. However, 1.5 gallons per foot is the recommended usage for todays faucets. It provides similar pressure for washing and rinsing as the others, but does not use as much water.

GBelle,
No the flow does not affect it. It is normal waterflow. The Side Sprayer has hard pressure for the need to rinse those harder cases.

The 1.5 gallon flow is rated with the water restrictor installed in the aerator. Remove that and you will get more flow and pressure.

When I installed this faucet the water pressure was somewhat disappointing. I removed the water saver plastic disc from the aerator portion of the faucet and problem solved. While it is nice to have that feature it is also nice to have the option to remove it. Water flow was increased approvimately 50% after removal and is more than satisfactory.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Faucet -- Super Easy Install I'm in awe at how easy this thing was to install. It was WAY more difficult to remove the old sink that it was to install this one. The faucet has the water lines pre installed which is a time saver. The faucet installs onto the sink using just 2 bolts which is simple! The one handle operation is great and the spray worked great. I'm happy with my purchase! BTW I paid a little more for the brushed finish which is way nicer. August 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ~~~Love this Faucet~~~ I love this faucet so much that when the first one I had, after 18 years bit the dust, I knew I would be replacing it with the same faucet. I never had any problems with my first one until the day my son opened a coke can which exploded and hit the faucet, thus busting it. This faucet is very easy to install, easy to keep "shiny" and flows very smoothly. Moen is my choice of faucets for all my sinks in my house. August 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by fair this is second faucet in 3 years . the first one didnt last so had to buy another because did not register product first time August 22, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Faucet Bought to replace bad Glacier Bay faucet. Was easy to install , looks good and has great pressure. September 6, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It'll do Lots better than the funky, spring loaded, wild spraying, stick activated, out of control faucet that it replaced. Simple to understand, hot on the left, cold on the right, mix 'em together for the perfect temp. Feels a bit cheesy, but nothing is as sturdy as it used to be "back in the day..." August 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Good product, we enjoy the change it made to the kitchen. It was easy to install. August 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice for the price Great faucet. The installation was easy because the components are designed well. The improved spray hose connection was a pleasure to connect because it was so easy. (no tools required) smooth operation and no leaks. August 22, 2016
