Customer Questions & Answers

How can you make the shower hose flexible?

The shower hose coils like it wants -- not like I want. It is very inflexible.

is it made of metal or plastic?

We had a plastic one and it only lasted 2 months.
Asked by: azcv
This is a little tricky to figure out: I took a closer look at mine and I think it is metal. I tapped on it and am still not completely sure. It feels like it could be metal, or a very good quality plastic. It has a nice smooth finish on it that feels like it could be either one. It's not light-weight, like you would expect plastic to be so, I'm still swaying in the direction of metal. The hose has a dark semi-transparent plastic covering, I can just see a metal flexi-tubing inside it.

is this interchangel with mixet?

I am wondering if the bracket that the showerhead sits in is adjustable up and down at all. I am guessing it will be adjustable side to side depending on where you are standing. I like to use the hand held feature but also like to use it while connected to the bracket so that I can have my hands free. I like it pointed down more and my husband needs to point it up. We bought another one and it was installed at a fixed angle so that we couldn't adjust it. Thanks

Hello Rae. Thank you so much for your interest in Moen products. The Banbury bracket is adjustable. The threaded nut that attaches the bracket to the shower arm is on a ball joint. The range of motion is limited and may be determined by your shower arm (pipe). If you have additional questions, please complete the form at or call Moen at 1-800-289-6636. What is the difference between mediterranean bronze & oil rubbed bronze?

I am getting the Brantford shower trim kit in oil rubbed bronze Model T2152EPORB and wanted to purchase a handshower to match but I could not find anything else from Moen in an oil rubbed bronze to connect to it. Is there any handheld shower available from Moen in ORB? (I didn't find any at Lowes, HD or Moen website) or will this mediterranean bronze be a close enough match? Thanks!
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Kim. Thank you so much for your interest in Moen products. The Moen Oil Rubbed Bronze is a dark rose toned old world finish with rich light & dark Copper/Rose toned accents. It is a distressed finish which will vary from piece to piece. The Mediterranean Bronze is a dark brown old world finish w/black overtones and bright Copper highlights. This finish is darker than the Oil Rubbed Bronze and it is more consistant in tone. It is a brushed finish which allows the hints of copper to shine through. Although the finishes are similar they are not the same. If you have additional questions, please complete the form at or call Moen at 1-800-289-6636. Our business hours are 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Saturday EST.

Will the head screw off and replace another Moen handheld shower head? Do have to use the hose?

Asked by: WMM825
The head does not screw off; however, the handle will screw off the hose.

Banbury 5-Spray 4 in. Handshower in Mediterranean Bronze is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 266.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Shower head but leaks I purchased this shower head with hose less than a week ago and there is a small leak at the ball swivel joint. Discover the plastic washer is cracked and I just hand tightened the assembly to the shower nipple. Pain to return and/or get parts. Our gym uses the same shower-heads and they leak too at the same place, for a few cents Moen, supply a better washer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Hand Held Shower The Moen Banbury hand shower is a well constructed shower head that does its job well. The construction of the shower head and attachments is of a good quality plastic which looks good in appearance as well. It does not require any special tools to attach the shower head to the pipe and can be done with bare hands in less than 5 minutes. Of-course you may need a wrench to remove your old shower head if its tightly attached. The spray settings work pretty well, although the water pressure in my area is I would say moderate. There are three basic flows: rain shower, high pressure massage flow and foam flow and the two other are combination of the latter two with rain shower. The only thing lacking on this would be a stop button to save water when you are shampooing. Overall, a definite welcome addition to my bath and my shower duration has increased after installation of this Shower head.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from non existent quality Junk. Had less than a month. have put in several shower heads over the course of several years. I would consider myself qualified to install one, being an industrial maintenance person for several years. the cheap plastic connector to the shower nipple. literally disintegrated and fell off the nipple, not cracked but fell apart like a piece of dried clay, i did not over-tighten it as i have broken these cheap fittings in the past and was not going to make the same mistake twice. i cant even find a part drawing to purchase replacement parts. do not buy this junk. i will contact Moen. o see if they will replace it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Arm bracket not adjustable enough The shower arm mounting bracket will not let the head come down low enough to let the head point straight down even when pivoted down as far as it will go. It appears the angle of the holder bracket is not perpendicular to the center line through the water flow line. If this was a 90 deg. angle it would allow the shower head to point down when in the holder and adjusted all the way down. It looks like the holder angle is maybe 15 deg. off of perpendicular. I have a Delta unit in another bathroom which has a 90 deg. angle and it adjusts far enough for the head to point straight down. Do you make a holder with a different angle (90 deg.) ?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for the money I gave this 5 stars based on the quality of the product for the price. I have had better shower heads but at a cost of more than double the cost of this shower head. With a little teflon tape the shower head installed easily and without any leaks. The product is made of a decent quality plastic that matches pretty closely to the real brushed nickel hardware I have in place. The head does have 5 settings but who uses any settings other than the spray setting? I get pretty decent pressure, a consistent spray pattern, and it looks good. For 50 bucks I'd say this is a good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ABSOLUTE BEST HAND HELD SHOWERHEAD I am very much OCD when it comes to my showerheads. I have a storage container with several Waterpiks plus I've given away a couple of Hansgroghes, Oxygenics and Waterpiks over the years, that cost more than this Moen Banbury. This time around I tried a couple of Deltas and Oxygenics but I did not like the low pressure spray they give even on massage or shampoo mode. I did love the ease to adjust the different sprays on the Delta since I have weak grip but low pressure and the hose being plastic were the draw backs. So what I am trying to say is I've had a variety of "top" brands but this Moen Banbury handheld showerhead is the BEST in every aspect! The shampoo rinse mode is almost too strong! I love love love it!! Also I am 5'1" and this showerhead works for me. (We do have an extension on though bc of past ones where I had to stand on my tip toes to get the showerhead down. We've had the extension for several years.) I do a lot of research when I buy anything and I rarely do reviews but I HAD to for this awesome Moen Banbury handheld showerhead. Buy it you won't regret it at all!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High-quality and easy to install This is a very nice showerhead, offered at a fair price. It was very easy to install, with excellent instructions. I was surprised to find that the instructions said that teflon tape was not recommended for installation of this showerhead, which was fine with me since I didn't have any on hand. I'm not sure what keeps the product from leaking, but I haven't seen any leaks yet in over a week of use. The showerhead has five setting, but my guess is that most people would use the middle setting most of the time: (1) narrow hard pulse (2) hard pulse plus wide "rainfall" (3) wide rainfall (4) soft pulse plus wide rainfall (5) soft pulse The #2 and #4 transition positions above are not very good, because the amount of water available is not enough to allow for a decent stream. This is a 2.5gpm showerhead, but that's simply not enough to have a pulse and a rainfall going on at the same time. The pulse positions are OK once in a while, but you can't really shower in them, because they are relatively narrow. The one thing I will say is that position selector tab at the bottom makes it very easy to switch between modes, unlike the traditional style showerhead where you have the grip the face of the showerhead itself, which can be tricky when it's wet. Of course, this showerhead is also removable for handheld use, and I found the length of the hose about right for giving you enough range without getting in the way. Two things I was a bit disappointed about: (1) the clamshell packaging was very hard to open. It literally took three times as long to remove the product from the package as it did to install it. (2) the chrome finish is nothing more than shiny plastic. That's probably reasonable for the price, but don't expect this to have a high-end look or feel. Even the "metal" hose feels like it's made of plastic. Overall, I'm very happy with this showerhead, and think the quality is very appropriate for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great hand held shower head! This shower head is awesome! We have always wanted a hand held head for our shower. Finally, decided to go for it. So glad we did, and happy this was the one we chose. We have 10 yr old Moen faucets and fixtures. So, I chose Moen again for the quality and durability. The finish and colors matched exactly to our existing fixtures. It was very easy to install and the associate at the store was very helpful in assisting me with purchasing the correct additional parts that i needed to add it to our current shower head instead of replacing. We love it! Great pressure and great features! Highly recommend!
