Faucet "pulses" at lower flow? What causes this? (Moen Model #CA87527)

This question is from Banbury Single-Handle Low-Arc Standard Kitchen Faucet with Side Sprayer on Deck in Chrome

I installed this faucet per the instructions. Turned on the water at the angle stops, allowed all of the air to leave the system and started using the faucet. Prior to purging the the sprayer, the water "pulsed" at all levels of volume, low thru high. After I purged the sprayer, it continues to pulse at very low flow/volume. I know that the air has left the system, however I would like some direction on how to correct this.

Answer:
This may be caused by insufficient water pressure against the valve that locks out the water going to the faucet (while the sprayer is being used). To 'lock' the switch over valve, try initially having the water on full blast and then gradually reducing it.

Can a faucet (such as this one) with "side-sprayer" be installed where a previous faucet had no sprayer?

This question is from Banbury Single-Handle Low-Arc Standard Kitchen Faucet with Side Sprayer on Deck in Chrome
Asked by

The current Price-Pfister faucet we have in our kitchen has no side-sprayer and the escutcheon has no "hole" for a side-sprayer and we certainly don't have a separate sprayer with its own escutcheon . . . so, without taking the old faucet assembly off the sink, I even wonder if our sink has a hole for ANY side-sprayer (possibly hidden by the current escutcheon). Do most sinks / counters come with pre-drilled / pre-cut holes for a side-sprayer such as this model? Seems like for most faucets the sink / counter has a separate hole for a separate side-sprayer, not one that sits in the same escutcheon like this model . . . PLEASE HELP, I need advice on what to do if there is no hole for the side-sprayer! I think we'd like to have a side-sprayer and it might help when we get ready to sell and move on . . . thoughts? Are most new installs / kitchen "re-dos" with or without side-sprayer?

Answer:
Most sinks do come with a side sprayer hole. You should be able to drill one if you take the sink out and turn upside down, drill a pilot hole and complete with a metal jig saw blade. Only do this on stainless steel sinks. It is usual that the side sprayer comes with a plug to put into the hole and look like it was made for it. Determine hole size on the plug for the best fit.

You will have to look under and see. Of course the faucet base plate hides it from view from above. Some sinks have the holes hidden from view from below by a gasket that prevents water that gets below the base plate from leaking into the cabinet below. Thus you may have to feel and see if the holes are covered up.
I originally thought my sink was a one hole and then spotted these rubber pads cemented from below that prevented water leaks. They just peeled off. If you have a 3-hole, the sprayer will work fine.

Thank you so much for your interest in Moen products. The Banbury one handle faucet is designed to fit on a standard three hole sink. Most sinks come with either three or four holes. Generally faucets with a base plate will cover three holes on a sink. Therefore, since your current faucet has an escutcheon it probably covers three holes on your sink. Moen also manufactures faucets without a side spray. Read More

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 201 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I got this faucet to replace one in our laundry room. It installed easily and looks perfect. The long line leads were appreciated. I wanted a side sprayer, and this one not only looks good, but has a good forceful spray when faucet it fully on. The handle lifts and swivels easily, unlike our prior faucet. All in all, a very nice product and looks to be durable. We've had it for about a month now. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great very easy to set up i will replace all my faucets with MOEN very good prices October 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product I purchased this faucet after moving to a new home and wanting a quality product instead of the builder's junk we had. I had used this model and brand of faucet in our old home for years and found it to be clean functioning, durable, and dependable. Other brands always had issues with worn out parts or leaky joints--not this one! It looks nice; it is very reasonably priced, and it works. I only gave this a four star rating on installation because I'm in my 70's and it's not easy to squirm around under the sink anymore. It doesn't reflect on the product in any way. No plumbing project is easy for me at this point in life. September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by easy-breezy My home plumbing jobs usually require at least three trips to the hdwe store. This was a cinch. Everything fit and went together as expected. Took longer to get the old one out than to put in the new one. Hurray!!! October 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Since I was replacing a 30 year old Moen faucet I found that no additional parts were needed. I found the spray attachment being a part of the faucet base an added feature since it allowed the continued use of the soap dispenser in the 'extra' hole in the sink. October 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great product good style, great features and was easy to install, would buy again October 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Desgn This replaces a 20-year-old Moen kitchen faucet. I like this updated design. The pull-out sprayer is integrated into the escutcheon. The design compliments our log cabin home. Well made, feels substantial. I expect it will last another 20 years. October 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice product The plumber took just minutes to install. This new faucet is replacing the Moen faucet that was installed by the builder. It lasted 13 years. With daily use I believe that is a good return for my money. October 3, 2016
