Answer:
Hi Nelson,
Due to the fact that all sink top surfaces are not completely true and even, plumbers putty or silicone caulk is recommended to assure a water proof seal.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not Happy With This Faucet Not made well, doesn't have good flow of water. Seems like there is a water control built into it. LIGHT WATER PRESSURE. And it's not adjustable. Hardware seems cheap but looks nice. Not recommended. May 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by quick fail pull down head pulldown spray head started to leak in about 1.5 years from its neck area. I would not purchase this manufacturer product again. May 3, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Simple Easy to install, light weight and easy fit. Wipes off very well and space saver. April 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It is a decent kitchen faucet but not a great one... Had I seen this faucet in person it is possible that I might not have purchased this particular model. Due to the curve in the design, you sacrifice overall height of the faucet from the sink. It's a good looking faucet and materials and construction were good - a fair amount of plastic though. The handle is incredibly light when you pull it out which is good, but it is light because there isn't much metal in it other than the brushed stainless skin. Moen also used a pot metal nut to secure the stem under the counter and that pot metal nut was difficult to thread up the stem and kept wanting to rotate the entire faucet when I went to tighten it. It became very difficult to hold the faucet centered so that the rotation was equal from left to right over the sink and get the nut tightened at the same time. Meanwhile, the pot metal nut is discarding material into the cabinet area where I was working. There may be a reason that the nut wasn't brass or similar but the current material made for a poor choice, personal opinion. April 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent Faucet for the Price Product seems to work fine now, but seems far less durable than the Moen faucet that I replaced with it. I have concerns that it will not last nearly as long as the other one did. That being said, it works fine. The only other complaint that I have is that it had low pressure as compared to my previous faucet. I assume that this is because everyone is trying to be more water usage conscious, but I wish that in that same spirit, companies would make a switch similar to the one for stream vs. spray, that would put the pressure back to normal when needed, but be able to switch back to lower pressure for normal usage. There are just times that you need more pressure. February 10, 2016
