Hello Marcie. Thank you so much for your interest in Moen products. The Moen tub spout 3830ORB is a diverter tub spout. The knob on top pulls up to divert the water to a showerhead. Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great solid tub spout Great solid metal tub spout. I am very impressed on the quality of this product compared to other manufactures. The one thing I am disappointed about is that it is not offered in store and there was no display in store. Overall would buy again June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Moen The longer length is just what we needed to get the water in the tub and off the side. March 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice! Perfect fit. Installed it three years ago. The diverter rubber washer just went out. Easy to repair with new washer. December 24, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fine Spout Moen makes two different versions of tub spouts. An IPS screws onto a male threaded pipe typically 1/2 inch size. With an IPS you simply screw on or unscrew off. Moen's Slip-Fit tub spout slides on and is held in place with a hex-screw. Know which type you have before making the purchase and then ignorantly rating it one star. You will know if you have a Slip On if you see a hex-screw at the base underneath the spout. If you don't see a hex-screw then you have the twist off. March 20, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by INCOMPLETE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION The product is of a higher quality than the lowest cost diverter spouts. Unfortunately, the product description does not mention that it is designed to be screwed onto the end of the fill pipe. I need a slip-on diverter spout. November 5, 2012
