Customer Questions & Answers

Is the soap dispenser filled from the top or bottom?

Asked by: Anonymous
Either - the container screws to the dispenser from underneath but it's easier to pull the dispenser out of the mount and pour soap in.

Can this faucet be installed with one hole, without using the mounting base? Also can it be installed with handle on the left side?

The directions show that it can be installed without one hole and without the mounting base. However, the handle is only on the right side.

The "cap" near the handle got cracked, as shown in one of the pictures in another review. We used the faucet gently and never abused it. I believe it is a design flaw --- the ways how the water volume and water temperature are adjusted by the handle causes too much stress to the "cap" area, leading to the crack. Another thing is that the handle is placed far away from the tip of the faucet. When you are done with your wash or whatever, your hand reaches the faucet to close it. During this period of time, lots of water is still running. This will be a lot of waste of water in a long time use. I doubt the designer of this particular faucet ever tried his own product. Would avoid this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft Clean Look Haysfield 87877srs has been installed for 3 weeks now and I am extremely happy with the look and operation of this faucet. Easy to clean, smooth operation, and looks great with my new stainless appliances. I opted not to use the soap dispenser, I prefer having one on the countertop. Another great feature of this single handle faucet is that the handle dose not rotate backwards ( side and forward only) this is great for tight spaces where a wall or backsplash might prevent full operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of installation A very good looking and well functioning faucet which is easy to install. I particularly liked the washer/nut assembly used at the underside to fasten the faucet. Unlike many of the other faucets which a basin wrench is needed to tighten a large nut in a hard to reach area; this unit comes with a long socket tool that fits over a much smaller nut which is a very convenient way to tighten it. The washer has a notch for the hoses so it isn't necessary to fish them through it. Well thought out with a minimum of room required underneath the counter top for the installation hardware. If you have 1/2" IPS angle stop fittings, adapters are required, but not included.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Faucet Easily installed. My sister had one, and we liked it. For us, the goose-neck allows stock pots to easily get into and out of our sink and be filled. Not having a separate sprayer hose is wonderful. The flow rate is great - my sister had bought another brand and did NOT like the flow rate (returned that one), so we researched the gallons per minute and style of this Moen faucet and it worked great for her; and will do similarly for us.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great customer service and warranty I'm very happy with the faucet this is the second one the first one lasted almost 3 years and started leaking badly internally in the body. Moen replaced it waived shipping fees and all. The customer service is outstanding as they stand by their product. The Haysfield faucet is attractive and looks great on my granite counter top.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Two years out... When I first purchased this faucet, it would have been a five-star. I loved it. It looks great and is easy to use. Installation (professional) was no problem. I've had it for two years when the plastic pieces started breaking. The most noticeable is the cover at the base of the handle. It came loose, and now I need to push it back in every. single. time. I use the faucet which, being the primary kitchen faucet, is multiple times per day. (The photo below is what happens when you turn the water on) Even though the rest of the product still works well, this constant frustration, especially for a "high end" product is enough to have me considering replacement. It does not get abused or used particularly hard -- it is a one-person household, average to below average use, no hard water issues. I cannot guess how fast it would have deteriorated in a family environment. I have not yet contacted the company, so cannot report on whether they are receptive to helping with defective product, but I can say their motto of Buy it For Life-- clearly does not hold if you intend to live longer than a year or two. I strongly recommend you reconsider purchasing any moen product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible quality control. After installing it went to connect the water line. Brass fitting was squashed. I guess I'll go buy a compression fitting for my new faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaked within first year of use We remodeled our kitchen last year and I installed this faucet for our sink. We liked the look and thought that we were buying a quality product being Moen but that was a very wrong assumption. Within a few months of use the selector switch that lets you choose whether you want spray or stream to come out of the nozzle began sticking. It's supposed to reset to stream after you turn off the water but it sticks in the spray position and you have to reset it manually. OK not thrilled but I could live with that. Then several months later the faucet started leaking significantly from the cup that covers the handle. I found a video on YouTube on how to take it apart and tighten the nut for the faucet handle but it was a big pain in the butt and I essentially had to take the entire faucet off, remove the handle and cover and tighten the nut. It did stop the leaking but I'm concerned I'll have to do this every year as just like any kitchen the sink gets a lot of use. I would avoid this product especially considering the price. I'm sure for the same or just a bit more there are better quality faucets that won't have so many issues especially with less than a year of use.
