Believe it might work if the paper is. Tight and the surface is very smooth. Probably would not work on rough and/or textured surface. One way to get it to work - adhere a piece of glass or plastic to the surface with a good adhesive and install the bar on that.

No, It is not recommended for painted walls or drywall. I'm sure wallpaper falls into that category. It is made for solid surfaces only. It is strictly to assist with balance and not for body weight leverage. They have some nice permanent products that you may want to check out.

Answer:
Yes, but only if it is smooth, not textured. Also keep in mind that the size limits it to certain sizes and spacing of the tile. I suggest measuring your tile and this device first, to make sure the suction cups do not span a grout line.

Yes, but it's designed for 4x4" tile. Larger tiles will work but smaller won't because the suction cups won't seal when spanning grout lines.

to the larger tiles (6" & 12") it will work fine as long as it is attached in the middle of the tile so no part of the suction cup is over the grout. Smaller ones (4" or less) may have a problem with suction as it needs a full flat surface to stick to, in order to be fully secure.

I do not recall a weight limit being listed on the packaging. However, knowing this grab bar is only attached to our shower wall by suction I made sure never to apply much weight to it and only used it to maintain my balance. After a period of time the bar does lose its suction grip and will separate from the wall with no warning and then it must be reapplied.

According to the instructions, you're only supposed to use it to steady yourself and not apply any weight to it. In reality it depends on how non-porous the surface it's attached to is and, if it's tile, how well it's stuck to the wall. I have seen similar items pull tile right off the wall when pulled on.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Finally, a product that does (exceeds) what it's designed to do I've waited a month to write this review. This product works and works well and far exceeded my expectations. My walk in shower has cast marble panels meaning there are no grout lines to contend with that you would have with tile walls. It sticks like glue and is rock solid. Much better than drilling a hole in the shower wall to mount a safety handle. Be aware that it will not hold on tile walls if the suction head spans across a grout line. If you have a tile surface, make sure you do not have it resting on a grout line. MEASURE ! July 25, 2016

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works well but not reliable as a permanent safety bar in the home. The grip installed easily and the directions are clear that the grip needs to be tested before actual use. This device is not sufficiently robust as a permanent solution for most people. The grip does move after a few days being in place. It is OK for a temporary support system, i.e. if you have a guest that needs a little additional help. August 2, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase! We have plain 4" x 4" (4.25" x 4.25") bathroom tiles. This just fits so that it takes up 3 tiles. It is holding and has not loosened up or fallen in over 1 months usage. It would be better if the bar was about 1/2" longer so that the suction cups were not right at the grout lines tho. But we love it! June 21, 2016
