This is a Moentrol trim kit that I could not install level. Since the handle trim kit is a square shape it is key that it installs level. I checked my valve and it was installed level. With a round shaped trim kit you can probably get away with it not being perfectly level, but with a square one it has to be pretty level or it looks bad. I can only deduce that the screw holes are not placed correctly. So I returned it. I am wondering if others have had this issue.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by WillC Not too bad
Im still waiting to see if it was worth the price tag. The shower head sprays well. It is average in its efficiency with it being a bigger square shower head. The material has and average feel. It has the rubber mini nozzles which make it easy to clean when one is not spraying straight. The installation instructions where about average. I had to take it apart two extra times because the valve would not shut completely. Interestingly enough I figured out that the weight of the on/off handle it so much that when I turn the valve off and leave the handle in a vertical position it leaks. I have to turn the handle horizontal in order to get the valve to completely close.

We selected the Moen Voss line as the style setter for our master bath remodel, but once the unit was installed it did NOT look like the picture. The handle on ours sticks out 3/4 of an inch, vs. the product literature making it look more like 1/4 inch. We called Moen and were told that due to variability it can stick out as much as an inch! There is nothing in the product information that could have let us know ahead of time (note the depth dimension in the side view of t3693sp.pdf is not provided from their product specification page), so if you're going to buy this, be very aware that it may look horrible once installed because Moen has no provision for depth adjustments once the valve is roughed in. We even asked if we could get a shorter version of the 132448BN Adjustable Temperature Limit Stop (note they have a longer version available), but they stated there is nothing they can do. Poor design in that it does not provide any depth adjustment...buyer beware as it has ruined the look of the bathroom because it's the one finish that is OBVIOUSLY off.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Vincent integral stops are horrible
the integral stop design makes no sense. It's a pressure sensitive spring loaded valve rather than a simple stop valve. Therefore it's more prone to failure. It took me months to figure out this is why my shower's not producing hot enough water. I replaced the 1225 cartridge and the balance spool at a total cost of about $75 to no avail. Finally I started playing around with the stops and was able to get hot water, but only temporarily. I'm at the point now where I'm simply going to remove the spring and washer parts, and/or try to obtain the simple cap to remove the stop valves completely.

I agree with the previous reviewer in that the controller sticks out much further than it should. I thought my plumber installed it incorrectly, but obviously not. Overall, I love the Voss collection in my master bath. I thought the issue with the shower handle would diminish over time but I still think about it every time I look at it though no one else notices. Wish it were more dimensionally correct but even so, would not choose a different style. Very classy looking.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Runner Excellent quality valve with shut off stops.
Moen makes a good valve that will last many years and you won't get stuck with parts unavailability. The shut off stop screws on the left and right enable you to change the valve components later without shutting off the water to the whole house. The Kinsley trim pieces that we got to go with it are very nice looking. I don't know what some people are thinking when they put a fancy European shower valve in. What is one to do years later when the design is changed and you can't get replacement parts anymore? We had to special order this relatively standard item, as it was not stocked in the store. It took 8 days to arrive. I paid $93.49 for this Moentrol valve in July of 2013 and the price as of 10/18/2013 is currently $122.21. A 30% price increase. When we have a large project, it is important to stick to a timeline and keep costs under control. 8 days shipping is excessive. I would recommend this valve, but Home Depot needs to do better.

As we prepared to soldier this valve in place, all the components with o-rings came out well and then went back in place nicely. The hot water stop for the handle worked nicely for the kids. Would definitely recommend this valve!

Stylish and good quality. Trim Adaptor for installation with Standard Morn faucet valve did not fit and needed more work.
