Customer Questions & Answers

What holds the two parts together?

Asked by: dd
There's a vertical dovetail slot on each side where they meet. You lift one side up and slide it down into the opposite side.

Can I use an 8 foot pressure treated 4x4 lumber post in this potter? Will it need additional concrete to support the post?
Asked by: CR
Thank you for the inquiry. Unfortunately this item is not designed to support the weight of a post, but rather go around a post that is already anchored in the ground. Yes, your 4x4 post will need to be anchored in the ground before placing, and planting the mailbox planter. Please reach back out with any additional questions.

It looks great, and the two pieces interlock well with each other. The material is lighter and thinner than I expected, but you can't tell from the outside. It wasn't too hard to drill drainage holes with a masonry drill bit; the material is easier to drill through than a true ceramic pot would be. Still, I went slowly to avoid overheating the material. I made sure to provide level support under the planter to avoid undue stress where the two halves interlock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I spray painted it more white. After mowing I use brush to remove grass clippings. Plan to touch up spray paint for accumulating grime. My only question is it frost safe? Will it survive winter without cracking?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful way to landscape mailbox I really like the design of the planter and it seems durable. I was really surprised there were no drain holes in the bottom of the planter. Since this will be in a very sunny area, I think it will be ok.
