Some reviewers said that the finish comes off in the bowl when using water and a brush. I few customers recommended using Krylon Matte Spray to seal the bowl of the bird bath. What particular type of Krylon spray should be used if I decide to do this? I hope the finish doesn't come off inside the bowl and I hope the manufacturer has addressed this issue. For the amount of money this birdbath cost there shouldn't be any issues and I shouldn't have to spray it with anything. If anyone has any information let me know.
Asked by: Linda
Yes, these issues have been addressed by the manufacturer and there is not need to spray anything on the bowl. Like any material, there will be some discoloration over time with constant exposure to the water and sun, but it should be minimal. I just spray out my birdbath with a hose once in a while and do not even bother with a brush.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointed I purchased this product last summer, &, overall was pleased. As another reviewer noted, the finish does come off when it's washed with a soft brush & water. I decided this summer to get another one for the other end of my yard, as one bird bath didn't seem to provide enough water for my flying friends. I was so disappointed in this second one. It was a little more difficult to attach the pieces & then detach them; the bowl & stand stuck together. The biggest problem, however, was that the underneath side of the bowl was not sealed. There are several leaks in the bowl, causing the bowl to empty in one day. I've tried spraying with a clear coat sealant with no luck. I'll try some other product to try to seal it, as it's too inconvenient to try to return it. The company needs better quality control.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from tips over easily I have owned this bird bath for several weeks. I wrote a glowing review at first because it went together so easily and looked nice. I have discovered since I placed it into the garden that it is very very top heavy and that it constantly tips over if there is the slightest wind. The top does not come off but the entire bath dumps over. So far it has not broken. This is not a heavy stone product. It is a light weight composite that they call "cast". It is light weight like plaster. I will fix my product by anchoring it in cement but wish I had understood it's problems in the beginning.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy Had the bird bath for about a month. In the instructions it says to use a soft brush to clean. Which i did with just water nothing else. All the color came off on the brush! Now the outside is black and the inside of the bowl is white. I never put anything in the bird bath but water. Have no idea how your supposed to clean the bird bath and keep the color on. I am very disappointed!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bird bath Ordered online and it is really nice looking except the finish is peeling off after one month. Very disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design flaw This is a beatiful birdbath, however, as many others have stated there is a major flaw in the design. Where the bowl attaches to the base is a weak point, and any pressure upon this point will cause it to snap apart. This happened on the first day for me. Luckily a bit of gorilla glue and a tender hand have proved effective this far in resolving the issue!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Now a focal point in the garden Some assembly required. Parts mated together better than expected. Best lateral stability achieve when base was partially countersunk in the ground. Cost comparable to cast concrete ones that were far less attractive.
