Product Overview

The MS International California Gold Ledger Corner Natural Slate Wall Tile is a slate ledger designed for use around corners. This complements a wall install of similar ledger panels and helps finish the corners. The panel features a symbiosis of bold, earthy tones and is suitable for wall installations both indoors and out. Note: Please inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

No...I would run one full tile into the corner and butt the tile from the other wall up against it. I would then do the opposite on the next row up, continuing this routine all the way up the inside corner.

They panels do not come in that configuration. Use the straight panel pieces and cut the ends flat and the tiles on the two walls will create a natural looking finished corner.

Because these pieces are so irregular on the inside, you need to butter them heavily in areas where they gap and I found using the grout bag very helpful for filling in edges with big gaps. Its less messy too ... its important to try and keep the front as clean as possible of mortar because unsealed slate is hard to clean (I would think even harder for an interior project than an exterior project). In fact, I sealed the tile pieces up to within 1/2 inch of ALL edges before I grouted and this helped with clean up. Read Less

I would like to use this for a fireplace surround. Do you know what the R-factor is (i.e. is it non-combustible)?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Take care and plan ahead when opening. These will come broken(1/2-1/3) of mine. Plan ahead if you are going to use them. They went into the box unbroken so the pieces are approximated in their location. Before removing I would suggest you get your hot glue gun ready. As you remove each piece, immediately repair it. This will avoid you having to put together a jigsaw puzzle later. Keep pieces from each box separate until all reassembled. It's a shame they are glued together so poorly. Mine came very dark with little if any golden color. Mostly grey. Have not installed them yet. I had them delivered to store so I could open there and decide if I wanted to proceed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful slate wall tile This wall tile is easy to work with and absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! It is NOT as gold, as it appears to be in the photos. It is really a true slate, The primary colors are a slate gray with a warm golden brown. We were not sure how our finished product would look, but we closed our eyes and hoped for the best...and it is much, much better than I could have imagined! There is a problem, though. DO NOT have this shipped to you. You will receive a box of rubble. Some how, if it's shipped to the store it's fine, but not to your home.

I'm a diy guy, and learned how to do the basics from YouTube, and Google. Always do your research. I love the products color, different dimensions give it a pop out 3d look. The dislikes would have to be the fragility of the product, so make sure you buy plenty of extras for waste. I've redone my fireplace with it, and it totally transformed it. It was red old brick prior, now it's modernized the whole room. I also made them angle on top in a day. Product exceeded expectations.

Unfortunately the corner pieces are not cut to the same specifications as the straight pieces. Almost all of my corner pieces measure 5 7/8" tall instead of the stated 6" size. The straight pieces measure the full 6" every time. This makes keeping things level challenging and creates a noticeable gap. Also, the "tab" cut out on each end only measures 1 15/16" where it as a full 2" on the straight pieces. Thus you are forced to either trim the connecting piece or once again have a gap. Lastly, some of the corner pieces slope down into the corner causing an even larger gap than if the corner stayed perfectly level. While none of these things are deal breakers it is frustrating to work with and leaves gaps where none should be if the corner pieces were more consistent with the corresponding straight pieces.

Only complaint is with how the product was shipped. It was packaged well inside an outer box, but half the boxes I received had damaged pieces that could not be used. On one shipment, it was obvious that the boxes were packed damaged to begin with. Home Depot was great about refunding me for them, but it makes it hard to make sure you have enough product to complete a job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for the price Good ledger stone for the price. 25% of the pieces were broken ... many can still be used since they broke at the glue lines ... it just take a bit more time, but others broke in the middle of the stone. Handle gently. We used broken pieces where we would have had to cut full pieces. Once installed it looks good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for a good price Overall very pleased with how the project turned out. The fact that this is real stacked stone (not fake cultured) for this cost is great. Only complaint is how easily the corners break inside the case even though they are packed in foam.
