This was my first DIY wall tile project and it was fun for the most part. Some things I learned:
1. HardieBacker Cement Board is recommend to install first on the wall studs because of the heaviness of the stone panels. I was hoping to originally get away with sticking them straight on the wall but after lots of research and advice I ended up installing cement board behind it for the long-term. Make sure to place fiberglass tape over the seams and mortar over the tape a couple times.
2. Definitely need a wet saw to cut through the stone. I used the SKIL 3540-02 which can be found on Amazon for $80. Cuts through it like butter. Word to the wise - wear clothes you don't mind ruining as the saw will spray mud all over you (Stone/sand + water = mud). Also, I made the mistake of first operating the saw on my patio which later caused me some couple of hours of cleaning. I wised up and placed it in the middle of my yard the second time where the mud ended up on my lawn instead of the patio.
3. Use the pre-mix mortar over the stuff you have to mix yourself. Much cleaner and easier to manage. Also, do up to 4 panels at a time and wait the next day to add more. This will help ensure it won't sag or fall off while drying.

These go up very easy and cut fairly easy. make sure its level! I built the frame to 48", they said each one is 24 inches, WRONG, they are actually 23.5 x 5 7/8. this little "lie" can really mess up your project in a hurry.

This tile is amazing, and HEAVY. If you are do-it- yourselfers, like my husband and I, we highly recommend that 2 people do this installation.
used natural stone and large tile thinset, and supports ( just in case for the top) and we LOVE the results!
Would have given it 5 stars, but 2 of the tiles had an excessive amount of glue on its back that we had to work off.

I absolutely love how these look. They were also very easy to install. There was a lot of cutting involved, but that was pretty simple as well. Some of the glue failed during some of the cuts, but the stone held up and I was able to still install the small piece that may have come off. Also, I didn't have much breakage when I opened the boxes. I think I maybe had a total of 3 panels that were broken when I opened the box, but I was able to return those boxes, no questions asked. Overall, I love the product.

I just picked up 16 boxes of this. These are so beautiful and the price is well worth it. I've paid more for hardwood floors and I think this by far will make my house pop. I'm adding this to a long wall in my master bedroom and the stone will cover most of the wall along with an electric fireplace and I'm so excited.
I love the variety of color to me this adds to the uniqueness but if you are looking for consistency (ie you prefer the red tones etc), you will definitely need to go through a few boxes and order more than 10% extra.
I haven't installed them yet so I can't comment on installation. I did open each box to check for damage and for I only had 3 boxes which I plan to exchange. Now to clarify, I wouldn't consider the 3 boxes damaged but, the box is supposed to come with 4 long pre-glued pieces for faster assembly and I had 3 that were in 2 pieces (1 in each box ; one that split in my hand when I pulled out of the box). This is not a huge deal as these pieces can easily be glued back together or directly into the wall that way but since I'm doing a large area I want as much pre-assembled as possible. I normally would comment after I use the item but since I am in no rush to do the work they may sit a long time ha.

Purchased this product for a fireplace insert surround wall.
Overall, the finished product looks great. The price per square foot was half that of other competitor products. The product was easy to install and cut with a wet saw.
I agree with previous comments about broken pieces. I expected some breaks since it's natural stone; however, there were some pieces that were broken badly and then glued over (sloppy fix). I would recommend purchasing extra just in case (~10% was damaged enough where I couldn't use it).
