Glad I read the reviews and ordered about 2 times what we needed. One whole box of both field and corner stone was nothing but broken pieces. Several pieces in the other boxes were broken. We used Liquid Nails to reassemble pieces that were not broken/cracked/chipped across the face. The corner pieces were lighter (lacked contrast in color) and didn't quite match the field stone so we cut out some pieces and inserted darker pieces along the corners.
Planning is everything for the best results! You want the cut edges to end up in the least conspicuous place. We started from the top as that gave the best result, but it was a lot harder. We created temporary ledges to keep it up and level as we installed. We used a wet saw because we already had one but you don't really need it. It does eliminate the dust factor, though.
It's not difficult to install but use thinset made for stone tile to be set on vertical surfaces. (Some HD employees tried to recommend a pre-mixed product made for regular tile.) Wet your stone before applying otherwise it sucks the moisture out of the thinset. We installed directly over our unpainted, concrete brick fireplace. We used some of the left over stone around the kitchen window, where we first installed 1/4" Hardie backer screwed in every 4 inches or less.
Our fireplace is stunning. All done, it cost us about $650 for the stone and thinset. The mantle (4x10) was $27. The quartz hearth was fabricated and installed by an HD contractor at a whopping $1025.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by 123mcp123 This product was very easy to work with.
This was the best product for what i was looking for, I was looking to cover a six by six post in rock. I bought one box of 6x6x6 all corners and put 4 pieces together see if it made a square and it worked. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The next day I ordered 31 cases of all corners and the pieces went together perfectly. It wrapped all six posts 8 feet tall each. The rock also cut very easily at the end when you needed smaller pieces The color is very neutral that goes with anything. I will definitly use this again, in fact I will be using this product for the posts of my fence. When people come by they think a professional did it.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Dave Great Looking Product; no broken pieces
I am very happy with the finished product. The natural stone looks great and should last forever. Installation was straight forward, but there were no instructions included, which would have been helpful. I gathered some helpful tips from these reviews, and drew on some past experience installing tile. Please see my review of the matching panels for more on how I installed the stone.
I ordered 17+ boxes (panels and corner pieces) delivered to my local store and found NONE broken. I did have one extra box and returned it with no problem.
The only disappointment that I had was that the panels fit very snugly together and look seamless, however, my corner pieces were just a hair taller than the panels. I order to keep the rows level, I had to shim each row. The actual gap is probablly less than 1/16 inch, but since I know the gaps are there, my eye can see them - they are likely invisible to the casual observer.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by ChrisMN Great Look.... Terrible Defect Rate
This stone surpasses others in the feel, finished look and ease of installation. I ordered 2.5 times the amount that I needed, based on others reviews. I still did not have enough unbroken pieces to complete my project. I ended up piecing some broken parts together, which doesnt look at all bad as the stone does a great job of hiding it in its randonmess. No problem at all at my local HD in returning the broken full cases of product. I would definitely use again.
