Product Overview

Greecian White Splitface Marble Mosaic Wall Tile has a raised, uneven texture for space-defining allure in any interior setting. The 12 in. x 12 in. tiles feature natural stone marble with random tone variations to give any residential or commercial expanse a clean look and contemporary flair. Soft white shades and subtle veins swim among the 5/8 in. x 2 in. bricks, supplying your space with distinct patterning for a dramatic impact on walls, fireplace surrounds and accent panels. Note: inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer.

Customer Questions & Answers

Installing MS International Greecian White Split face 12x12 marble mesh mounted mosaic wall tile

Must it be grouted? If so, how difficult since it appears to have very little distance between pieces and is also randomly raised. Would it be good to use as a backsplash for a bathroom vanity?
Asked by: Anonymous
The only places I grouted were some of the tiles didn't line up to smooth and left a little gap. I just used the bright white premixed that HD sells and filled it in where I noticed the spaces. You don't need to grout the hole piece. The stones are butted up together tightly.

Do I have to grout this tile?

Asked by: Rod
No, you don't grout (can't grout) this tile. The stones are set tight together on the matting. Just make sure to use some liquid silicone sealer after it is installed and set real good. Just like sealing granite countertop. The silicone sealer will keep stains from "sticking" to the stone. See pics.

Asked by: MIMI4866
I used a liquid silicone sealer recommended by the Hone Depot guy. Put small amount in a spray bottle, and sprayed it on the tiles after they were completely set up. Then just damped off the excess with a cloth towel and wiped up the countertop (which was also quartz).

It says it's white but in the photo it looks kind of cream or beige. Is there any real white in it?

Asked by: Debra
Yes, it is White and Gray. No greenish hue, no bluish hue. No pink of any kind.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great mosiac marble tile Bought this stone to do around a fireplace and tv wall I built. Very easy to work with. My only suggestion is to buy extra and sort thru to get rid of the "bad" ones. Stone cut easy. I had no issues with the glued backing coming off while cutting. I love how it looks. The tumbled and polished stacked stone tile is a great bargain. Similar products get up to around $20sqft. Make sure to use white thinset

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging but worth the trouble First, thanks to everyone here who wrote reviews and posted photos, that really helped me with my decision to buy this and with the installation of it. This was a challenge to put up, but the finished product is more than worth the effort. My space took almost exactly one and a half sheets to cover from bottom to top on our back splash. Working around the outlets and switch was easy, just pulled full stones off the matting close to the outlet box sides, then filled in with individual cut stones to complete the work close to the outlet boxes. I used a table saw and a smooth cut diamond blade, and cut the stone sheets dry (outside of course). A little dusty, but really worked well. Single stones could also be "ground down" on the side of the blade to fit those tight spaces at the top of my back splash. For cutting full sheets I found it helped to "sandwich" the sheet between two of the cardboard packaging pieces that it comes on, this helped support the stones during cutting. I "back buttered" every sheet and single stone I put up rather than spread mastic on the wall that way I could control the amount of mastic and not worry about drying out problems. I had to massage the interlocking stones together a little bit, and used a small piece of wood and rubber mallet to bump them together tightly. All in all, it was remarkably easy to do, and the look is beautiful. Again, I read every review here, and you all helped a great deal to make my installation come out so good. I would highly recommend these tiles to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like each piece installed separately. Beautiful! Had someone install into our new kitchen. Loved not having grout lines! It looks like each stone was put in separately. Looks expensive!! We have very uneven walls, so a few smallish spaces between some of the tiles, but actually adds to the look. Could not be happier with the look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I love this for a backspash! I am pleased that it turned out exactly how I wanted, even though it was an online only order. It's white, but there are some grays, off whites, browns, and shiney pieces mixed in. Granted my dad helped me with all the cutting (he used a small wet saw) and installation, but it was pretty simple - as far as installing tile and such go. We tried one method of pulling off stones around where the light switch will go (as another reviewer had done), but ended up just cutting the rest since they happened to line up where we just needed to make cuts from the top instead of somewhere in the middle of the piece. We used the pre-made mastic, and just buttered each piece. **Side note... the walls were painted w/gloss paint, and we sanded them a bit w/80 grit sandpaper to prep them** We used small tile spacers along the bottom, and sealed with caulking. Also, just from not fully paying attention when applying each piece and getting them as close to each other as possible - and also just the natural imperfections of stone, there were gaps at the seams, and some random other places. This bothered me - apparently none of my friends noticed until I pointed them out - so I got a free syringe from the pharmacy, added a little water to the mastic, and used both to fill in the gaps, then wiped the excess off with a dry paper towel and then a wet one - LOTS of paper towels. (Maybe there's a better option, but everything got beat up pretty bad since it was wiping rough stones.) Looks WAY better now. It was a bit time consuming to do that - and of course not REALLY needed - but I'm very pleased with how it turned out! (You can see the gap in the photo, and then filled in. Just look for the dark spot on the right to know where it had been)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful and white This is beautiful white carrara marble. It has a low relief but gives some 3 dimensional accent. The face are rough which adds some glitter on an overall frosty finish. It can be a great accent for a wall. Beware to apply a fiberglass sheet in the back to help cutting the mosaic.
