Purchased about 400 sqft for our kitchen. Ordered and picked up at the store. So far there's no damage, but I'm only about a quarter through the install. Cutting the tile isn't an issue with any reasonable wet tile saw. Go slow and use a good blade to eliminate chipping.
The biggest problem is the with the sizing. As another reviewer mentioned, you will have problems with uniformity. In my case, using 1/16" spacers, all of the 8x8 tiles need to be cut down about a 1/16" off of 2 sides. Occasionally some of the 8x16 tiles need a bit off the long side. In addition there's a decent thickness variation between the 8x8 and 8x16 tiles. Generally the 8x8s are thinner while the 8x16s are thicker than the rest. Even using a leveling system (Raimondi), it can be a pain.
I like the look of the slate; however, beware of the installation problems. Using the pattern is a pain as it is. The problem is further compounded by the sizing issues.
If I had to do slate again, it would not be the patterned, gauged slate. Maybe a 12x12 or 12x24 or any other large format in uniform size.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Alison Beautiful tile at a very reasonable price!
Our contractor installed this tile around our tub, inside our shower and the bathroom floor. We had over 190 sq ft and the tile was easy to install, easy to form a pattern with the 4 different tile sizes and it looks amazing against our white fixtures. I would highly recommend this tile for bathroom installations. I couldn't find anything else at a better value.

We ordered 1 box to see what it looked like in person. Thank God.. The color was very very light with chunks of white in the slate. Multiple pieces were broken into pieces during shipping, and it was an all around piece of junk. I've bought hardware cheaply for projects without it looking cheap. This floor looks like it should cost $1 per sq foot. Thank God for a return policy.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MG Attractive high-end flooring
If you accept the thickness of this product will vary, and the various pieces may not be perfectly sized; then you will get a beautiful floor for a great price. Make sure you clean and seal the product once installed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Manhattan Looks great against white
This tile came out looking great as a natural looking compliment to white subway tile and white fixtures (Tub, Sink, Bathroom). I was originally a bit concerned that I needed more space for the pattern to emerge but still looked okay in my tiny space (see pic).

Love this flooring! Installed it in my bathroom and loved it so much I put it in our entrance way. Planning on remodeling the other bathroom with it as well and hoping to use on the walls of a walk in shower!

I haven't installed it yet but I am impressed with the material quality and appearance. The order was for 1 box which arrived "split" between two boxes because of the weight. Unfortunately, the largest piece in one of the boxes was broken. Upon inspection of the box, it was obvious it was mishandled in shipment. Apparently the "50 lb" sticker on the box did not convey "heavy" to those who handled it. I will probably have the product shipped to my house again as the closest store is 45 minutes away. I will plan to return the broken tiles to the store.

The shipment of these I received (200 sq.ft) were not modular. Either you will have no grout lines (not recommended) or you'll need to cut every single piece down to accommodate grout.
I was determined to make it work, so I figured out the cuts, but my contractor outright refused to cut it all. I'm pretty bullheaded, so I rented a machine and did it myself - good luck finding a tile cutter that can handle 24" cuts...Took forever on a machine designed to handle 16x8" max... Also, once you cut slate, it will chip some along the edges. Tile is kind of rough anyway, so I went ahead with it.
And then I had to argue with the sub laying the tile for like 45 min. to convince him that the pattern would work, now that I'd cut every piece down...
Crossing my fingers it comes out looking good and was worth all this...
