Can the individual tiles be cut or not? I'm particularly concerned about the metal tiles. One older response from MSI says yes and another says no.
Asked by: Toledo
They probably could be cut with a metal blade saw. I eliminated the issue by subbing out those tiles with others where cuts were required

Shower walls?

I have this tile as kitchen backsplash and fireplace in a small home and wondered if I can use it as an accent piece in the shower on the walls. Will it rust?
Asked by: Bigphatjudy
I have this in my shower and it is great. The metal doesn't rust at all.

Can we cut this in half so that we have two 6 x 12 strips of mosaic?

Asked by: Lotus
No, the mosaic is 11 tiles x 11 tiles. You can't cut a 6x12 strip without cutting tiles in half.

The look blends well with the light oak cabinets and quartz counter tops that have splashes of green and tans in the color scheme that I have. It is not a bright, flashy tile, more subtle. The mix of different tiles in the sheets do lend to a nice variation in texture and depth. It is a somewhat cumbersome tile to work with. Being 12”x12” sheets made up of 1”x1” tiles, perfect alignment is difficult and the sheet grout spacing wasn’t always consistent. Cutting the pieces to fit wasn’t too bad, glass tile nippers worked well, but each little piece needed to be cut individually. Also where the cut edges were clearly visible, such as inside corners, I used a Dremel tool with a small stone grinder to smooth and true each piece as required. Grouting required a couple of touch ups as the grout spacing is small and there were misses. Also I took the advice of previous users and taped off the metal framed tiles before installation onto the walls to prevent grout from getting caught in the edges, a cumbersome task but worth the effort. 1" painters tape worked well for this. A caution I have for anyone thinking of using this tile, the metal covered tiles and metal framed tiles do not have a very durable finish. The intention of those tiles is to give a darker wood grained look. After grouting and then wiping the excess grout off the surface I would say 50% of those tiles lost all or most of the finish. So use caution when wiping down those particular tiles if you want them to maintain their original look. The ones that lost the entire finish look like a brass/copper tile or frame, the partial loss ones look lighter than the original wood grain tiles. Fortunately in my application this looks OK, it gives the tile even more variation. The tile is somewhat on the pricey side, though for some reason Home Depot dropped the price temporarily after I had purchased it and I was able to get the difference refunded. Also pick each sheet carefully, some sheets were damaged and there were clearly two color variations I saw in the store and I handpicked each sheet to keep the color consistent. I actually went to 3 Home Depots to find all the tile I needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Nice accent I used the Manhattan Blend Glass tile as a 3 inch border around my bathroom as well as medallions around the tub area. I used the Gold Chalise porcelain tile from Home Depot as well. My daughter thought the Manhattan tile would be too modern looking for my old world bath design but I think it adds a lot to it. You can decide for yourself in the pictures. 4 pieces total that have the bronze band did come off. I didn't bother glueing it back on as there were plenty of other banded pieces. I love the colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The colors are great and there is a lot of variety in the tiles, which adds texture. The variety in the tile is very appealing and unique. However, the tiles with the metal frames around them were a grouting nightmare. We had to clean grout out of them with a toothbrush. In addition, the little metal frames kept falling off. We really love the color and texture of the tile in our country farmhouse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Georgeous on my kitchen backsplash. Classy, rich look beyond the cost. The tile is a great addition to my newly re-decorated kitchen. The various mosaic colors work well with the copper accents in the tile. The copper frames on some of the tiles do fall off but in no way affect the look of the finished product. I saved the pieces but have not decided whether or not to glue them back on. Grouted w/SimpleGrout Haystack color and the look is simply stunning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Looks great, using it as a border in our bathroom and shower. Would not be good for floors as some tiles have copper foil edging that could become damaged and cut
