Can this tile be installed over existing ceramic tile on floor, walls and countertops?

I want to update the style of my kitchen and I am leaning towards new tile due to the expense of having to remove the existing tile countertops and backsplash if I was to have granite installed on the countertops and backsplash. I am thinking about using the same tile on the kitchen floor, countertops and backsplash.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 188 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Uptown tile for bathroom and kitchen We installed the metro gris tile in our kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, and bonus room off the kitchen It looks great and is easy to sweep, mop, or wipe up. As other reviewers have mentioned, it does tend to show marks easily, like every time you come in form outside and walk across with your shoes on, you'll notice. So, we've started a new tradition of taking our shoes off when we come in. Then it stays beautiful without constant mopping. When our guys installed it, they did mention there was a lot of "ghosting" of the grout ... it was very hard to get the grout off the tiles and get it looking clean. But somehow they got it done. Regarding choosing the right grout color for this tile ... We used pewter grout on the metro gris tiles in the bathroom. From a photo I had of the work progress, I thought the pewter grout was too brownish. So we got the "dove gray" custom color grout for the kitchen. When I arrived on site and saw the pewter grout in the bathroom, it was PERFECT! The problem had been the lighting in the photo. And then ... when I saw the dove gray grout in the kitchen in person ... it was too blue/lavender ... oh darn. Oh well! It still looks fine in the kitchen, even with the mis-matched grout ... after all, the grout is a small amount of the whole surface area. Mostly you see the beautiful tiles. But now I know, for future reference ... if you want a grout color that will blend in with this tile (so the grout lines don't jump out at you), and one that matches the color of the tiles themselves ... the in-stock pewter grout is the one to get. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Porcelain Tile with and Amazing Look! The installation was a breeze. This is exactly the kind of tile we were looking for. It totally completed our kitchen look and we couldn't be any happier with the turnout! Some of the tiles have tiny blemishes on them but very hard to spot. Overall for the quality of the product the price was great! March 8, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks pretty, terrible to keep clean My husband and I had our eyes on this tile for a long time before purchasing it to lay in our kitchen. We used dark grout, and although we were happy with the look of the tile with the dark grout upon finishing installation, we immediately realized how difficult it is to keep clean! Just like a dark colored car, everything shows up on this dark tile. We are used to walking into the kitchen with our shoes on, but we need to change house rules now because I just don't have it in me to mop every day. If there are any tips on keeping this tile clean, please share your wisdom. We just installed this two weeks ago and we're already regretting the dark tile choice. Go with light tile, dark grout. It's much easier to keep clean. P.S. The porcelain tile chips easily. Be very careful. February 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful! Did my shower and bathroom floor, in lighter color, and turned out awesome! I've read some comments about cleaning but i squeegie mine before I get out. Can't go wring for the price. February 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beware! Looks Great, Poor Dimensional Quality This tile is very clean and modern looking, particularly when installed with a pewter grout and Schluter stainless steel trim. Laid about 200 sqft in master bath on floor, shower walls and bench, and soaker tub enclosure. Very pleased with the appearance. HOWEVER, be aware that the dimensional QC by the manufacturer is very poor. Most tiles were "off" by 1/16 to 1/8" in width and as much as 1/4" in length! You can throw away your tile spacers and just eyeball the spacing. May 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great tile, great look back butter each tile to ensure grip, soft edges that chip when cutting. overall a nice looking tile that looks high end and clean. October 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Metro Gris tile looks great with light, contrasting grout. Of all of the rooms we remodeled this year, the laundry room with Metro Gris 12x24 floor gets the most compliments!! I usually do not like a "grouty look" to floors. I like thin grout, and usually matching to the tile. But, in the case of Metro Gris tile, it looks AWESOME with a contrasting light grey / off white grout. See pic. Easy to clean. Looks textured, with lines, but it doesn't have grooves to trap dirt and grime - so it stays looking clean. Paneling pictured is also from Home Depot (Veranda 3 ft. x 7-1/4 in. x 1/4 in. Vinyl Reversible Panel Wainscot Moulding (6-Pieces)), with Veranda 8 ft. x 7-1/4 in. x 1/4 in. Vinyl Pre-finished Reversible Panel Planking Moulding (3-Piece) July 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It doesn't get any cheaper than $2 per square foot Talk about inexpensive paying just $2 per square foot. Saw something at a high end tile dealer however they wanted $6/sqft. Save a bit and invest the difference in these nice subway white tiles October 20, 2015
