Product Overview

The MS International Nero Marquina Marble Floor and Wall Tile lends an aesthetic enhancement to a variety of residential and commercial spaces, an especially dramatic upgrade for kitchens and bathrooms. This natural stone field tile comes in an enigmatic black tone that captures the motion of white lightning-like streaks blended with a polished, high-sheen finish, creating an effect that coordinates beautifully with many interior styles. Note: Please inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

Customer Questions & Answers

Marquina black veinated marble: Will this material tolerate cutting into 2" x 12" pieces? Can it be done in your store?

I need 44 lineal feet of material cut into 2" x 12" pieces. Can this be done with a loss rate of less than 15% with this material? If you cannot obtain an answer can you give me a phone number for your vender?

I doubt it. Only because of the veins in this tile sometimes run all the way through the tile. most of my order came patched or glued together. I returned it. not a durable tile and the quality they use is suspect.

This looks like "China Black" marble from China, not Spanish "Nero Marquina". Big difference in the veining. Nero marquina has dainty/thin white veining. China Black looks like a busy mess. First photo appears to be China Black, and fourth photo appears to be Nero Marquina. Which one are you selling? Thanks.

not an expert but I can tell the difference. I wanted Nero Marquina because black china was to busy for my taste. This looks like black china to me. A LOT of white random streaks in this tile.

I bought 42 cases with just over 200 sqft so I think I'm pretty qualified to judge this product as I had a pretty good sample size. The short version is DO NOT BUY THIS TILE!!!! its a complete waste of time and money. the original 42 cases got delivered and I struggled to put together 10 good cases out of the 42. This is despite the fact that I bought more than 25% extra. Home Depot recommends you buy 15% extra. My 25% still wasn't enough. I returned 32 cases and bout another 32. They arrived in store this time. I opened two cases and immediately ran into the same problem. One piece broke and glued back together, several patched. I told them I wasn't accepting this product and returned the whole order of 42 cases. First the majority of the tile will come with veins in it that are NOT polished. They are deep and you can feel them. Some were so deep that the manufacturer even patched them! Imagine a vein that runs through the white streaks in the tile that is patched with black. I saw different kinds of marble in store in Lowes and Home Depot and they were completely polished. This leads me to believe that this is not how the tile is supposed to be. Then there's the issue of patching itself. Some came with patches on top of the polished surface but most were patched on the bottom. This wasn't as much of an issue for me because I was going to use it for wall tile but anyone who would use it on the floor would likely break the patch while walking on it. The majority of tile came with several chips in the edges or even the center of the tile. Lastly and most outrageous some pieces came broken and GLUED back together! I couldn't believe it. You could actually see the line or feel the break and see the clear glue they used to glue it back together. Clearly this manufacturer was greedy because they were trying to sell all the tile people rejected and returned because it was defective. Instead of taking the loss they tried to resell the defective product and pass it on to other customers. I cant believe Home Depot continues to buy this Nero Marquina from this manufacturer. It looks nice online but you'll have to buy 75% extra to get enough for what you have. I will say this Home Depot was easy with the returns and gave me free delivery and a large discount on my next order of tile which ironically came from the same manufacturer but was granite. That was pristine no chips or breaks and came completely polished. I'm guessing is its because granite is a much harder stone and the difference was the manufacturer didn't take care of the much more fragile marble. Buy this tile at your own risk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Quality Tile We were very excited when we ordered this tile. We took home the display board and it looked perfect for our new bathroom. When we got our order we couldn't have been more disappointed. The majority of the tiles were covered in hairline cracks. Others were unevenly polished. Some were smooth and shiny while others were rough with a matte finish. It looked awful when we laid it out on the floor. We ended up packing it all back up and taking it back to return it. I will say this, the return process was quite easy and we got a full refund. I was a bit worried given that this was a custom order. Bottom line is I will shop elsewhere for the replacement tile.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Product I recently purchased a few boxes of this marble tile and was very excited to use it for a bathroom remodel at my house. To my dismay, upon opening the boxes... EVERY SINGLE TILE WAS BROKEN AND RUINED!!!!!! I even hoped it was possible to salvage some of it after I opened the first box. I could imagine how this tile could've looked elegant, if intact. I don't know if it was damaged in transit or at the factory. But obviously it's too flimsy and fragile for any use. I'm returning this immediately. I read the other reviews prior to my purchase. I thought those were flukes and my purchase would be different. It was not. What a joke this experience was.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality. I ordered this, knowing how beautiful this kind of marble can be, (having worked with it years ago). But when I went to pick it up at the store, I checked the quality, as I always do, and discovered it to be very poor. The stone was heavily fractured and minimally repaired. There were a multitude of areas that would obviously break during cutting or installation, or worse yet, after installation. Also, the polish was sketchy. Nice in some areas, not so much in others. Then I saw the sticker indicating where it was "made". Suffice to say I was not surprised. I'd say pass on this one, regardless of how pretty it is in the picture.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looks, hard to use. We ordered 40% extra tile after reading online reviews and used every last tile. Over 80% arrived with hairline breaks that were clearly sealed and refurbished by the supplier. This stuff break really easily when cutting, so make sure to buy enough for the job. You can always return it and it can take about 2 weeks to order. Overall, it looks great, but wasn't easy to put in.
