It is suggested to use latex modified thinset in the description. However since at least one side of the tile is more than 15" versabond suggests using LFT (large tile mortar). Which one should be used so warranty is not void. I am installing over basement concrete floor.

FlexBond Gray 50 lb. Fortified Thin-Set Mortar
or
Natural Stone and Large Tile 50 lb. White Premium Mortar

Also we have painted the basement floor with epoxy. Can we install over it or epoxy should be sanded?

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The recommended spacer size is ¼-1/8th of an inch. Spacers are used to maintain the space between grout lines.

Redwood Natural 6 in. x 24 in. Glazed Porcelain Floor and Wall Tile (9.69 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly What We Wanted We had 320 square feet of the redwood porcelain tile installed. It looks amazing...very much like real wood floors. I will caution buyers about one thing...the tile looks much lighter inside the Home Depot store under fluorescent lighting than it does in our home under incandescent lighting. We initially purchased linen color grout because that's what was used on the display at HD but once I saw the tile installed in my home and noticed how much darker it looked, we opted for the light smoke colored grout instead and it's a perfect match for the tile (unless you prefer a noticeable outline around each piece of tile). The guys who installed the tile were very impressed with the quality of the tile as well, saying it cut much better on their saw without leaving chipped edges like ceramic tile does. Overall we highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from obsessed with this tile so far! Contractors are laying tile right now throughout our basement level, which is a kitchen, bathroom, and dining room. I got the longer tiles (6x36). We are using a 1/16 grout line- thinnest spacing to look closer to real wood- and a dark grout (#95 sable brown) for the same reason. We are doing a "brick lay", so they are staggered. We have hardwood floors on the 2 other floors of our house and this porcelain tile looks insanely identical. We ordered 40 boxes and one entire box was cracked. I figured we would use those pieces for corners and small spaces, or else return it if we overshot our order. I will update after floor innstallation is finished!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rustic elegance When we couldn't match the tile that's in the rest of the house, we went with a completely different look with this product. This flooring really looks like wood. We had it installed in small bathroom with a random pattern. We love the look and highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Redwood tile This is an awesome tile looks beautiful. I have had friends get down on hands and knees they really thought it was wood. They didn't believe me that it was tile. I put it in my kitchen and living room last year now I'm putting it in the rest of my home. An amazing look.
