Product Overview

This MS International 12 in. x 12 in. Three Rivers Gold Slate Floor and Wall Tile offers a bold combination of earthy tones that will add a splash of rustic styling to commercial and residential spaces. This tile is constructed from durable, vitreous slate material, comes in an unglazed, textured finish and incorporates random variations in tone. This tile is suitable for installation on floors and walls. NOTE: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

Answer:
Yes.
But beware. I ordered these for a bathroom project. 80% were broken and several of the tiles were not cut right, missing as much as 1/8" of the tile. If you want natural stone, go with stone from Italy or Turkey. This comes to you very prominently on the box as "MADE IN CHINA" which is warning one. You can spend less and get better with porcelain or ceramic with the look of stone.

Answer:
Yes and they vary widely. I had some that were only muddy grey and then one that was black with bright yellow. They all blend together but I culled some of the less attractive ones out using them as a last resort.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Three rivers gold slate floor and wall tile comes with bold combination of earthy tones and incorporates random/high variation in tone. Color variation is an inherent characteristic of natural stone and therefore variations from tile to tile may differ.

Answer:
Definitely renting or purchasing a wet tile saw. We borrowed a friends and it made cutting the tile a breeze. No chips at all.

Answer:
The way that slate is formed, however, makes it nearly impossible to use anything except a tile saw -- either a wet saw or a dry angle grinder with a tile-cutting blade.

Thank you for your question. Without any middle support to hold the tile, it is uncertain how the tile is installed. This tile is used for countertop installations.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow! Awesome granite flooring! This granite tile is absolutely beautiful! This tile is the perfect compliment to our newly renovated kitchen. My husband I took on the challenge of refinishing cabinets, painting walls and ultimately laying this granite tile floor. Although this was our first time installing tile flooring, we are extremely happy we took on the task of installing this sometimes challenging tile. We chose to grout with a light gray grout and applied two coats of "wet look" sealer. The sealer enhanced the beautiful colors unique to each tile in all shades of brown, gray and black. The tiles are individually unique of each other when combined as a whole has created and amazing, durable floor for our highly used kitchen. We took the manufacturers suggestion and laid out several rows of tile at a time so that we could see how they would look before being glued down. I can't wait to do the entryway next!! Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not consistent three rivers gold I expected some variety in colors but not so much that only about half of the tiles were within the three rivers gold spectrum. The other half were mostly shades of gay. I could place many of those along the installation to allow for variety and color balance but still ended with over fifty square feet of unused gray ones out of a four hundred fifty square foot purchase. Simply stated, one out of nine tiles I could not use. Also ran into a few tiles that had apparently broken and were glued back in place. Those I could not use as the seams where they had broken were quite visible. They are still reasonably priced, so given the problems listed, it may or may not be a viable purchase. I have another installation to do in my propert, and will likely get these again. Either that or pay much more for a better product. August 2, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just okay Too many gray tiles. I expected some variation in the colors as it is slate, but too many with no gold/orange tones is not acceptable. I will be able to use some to add to my patio's color display, but, I'll end up with quite a few not used. Using them all would distort the color balance. I would retur those if not for the 15% restocking fee. As for thickness consistency, there is some variation, but acceptable as it is a stone product. July 5, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap outdoor tile I wanted to cover an old walkway, not dig it up. This was a cheap, nice looking way to vastly improve the look and safety of my walk. Some tiles were very brittle, and came apart in my hand. Over all a good deal. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I wanted. I hired a professional to install these tiles. They look amazing. Look the way look ! Great job. August 20, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by In Door Patio We wanted to give our indoor patio an outdoor feel. We chose this floor tile because of its rustic uneven setup and for the variety in colors. You will get a bit more gray tiles. Best solution is to buy a few more boxes. Lay out your tiles prior to setting them to get an idea how you want the tile patterns to look. Some tiles are fragile when handling and breaks easy. I learned to hold each with two hands to avoid that issue. Once laid on the floor the tiles gave us the desired look which we wanted. We are very happy with the results. We also decided to use the patio as an office. This definitely added a great visual difference from the brown carpet that was here before and is a great opening statement when coming into our home from the front door. February 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Tile The color mix is nice, but there is a large percentage of gray tiles. Since they were so cheap, I bought 3 additional boxes of 10, and cherry picked the best ones for our application. In our 6 boxes, we only got a couple that were truly "gold", and a few solid reddish ones. Most were gray with color highlights. In the end, since we were able to cherry pick the best ones, the mix is nice, not too gray. Just something to keep in mind, buy a lot more than you need. Also, there were a lot that had been broken, and reglued, but since the finish is "rough", it was not a problem. Lastly, some tiles were literally twice as thick as others, so it makes it a bit more tricky to install...having to thicken the mortar layers on some, and getting an even, level surface. Overall, these tiles are very nice, just be sure to buy extra. November 12, 2011
