Answer:
You probably could. I think it would be a 'busy' counter top. I would buy several pieces and lay them out looking at them for a few days before installing permanently.

Answer:
That is exactly where I used it. When I applied the grout I brought it level with the top of the tile for a smoother feel. I had removed the laminate and it left the plywood and that is what I installed it on. You might want to do just a little sanding to make sure the wood doesn't have any bumps. I do love the way it looks.

I also recommend it as a border around the shower surround--see pics. of examples of other glass tile usage below. One note: In the pic. of the white shower, I did substitute a couple of the Porcelain square tiles for the glass tile from the surround above (happened to be the exact same size, for an easy swap). It ties the surround with the floor, and only a couple of pieces where I thought people wouldn't stand too much. The pic. is small on here, so you can barely see it as the sm. brown spot on the shower floor. Read Less

Treasure Trail Iridescent 12 in. x 12 in. x 4 mm Glass Mesh-Mounted Mosaic Tile is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ellegant and Easy I'm a full time working mother of 3. Love to do home improvement projects but finding time is difficult. For a small project I wanted to tile the back splash behind my stove in my kitchen. Went to Home Depot and they helped me pick out all the supplies and explained how to install the tile. When I left, I felt confident that I could do this. I spent an afternoon working my project and had dinner on the stove by 5 pm. It turned out so good I've decided I'm doing the rest of the back splash in an accent color. This was my first attempt at tiling and it was fun and easy. Great product, affordable and lots of choices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THEM!!! Reference to the reviewer regarding chipped glass. You will get that no matter what glass tile you buy--unfortunately. If that is a real concern for you then, you will want check ea. sheet before bringing home. However, with this particular tile because they're so small & so much variation in color, once you put the grout in, you don't even really notice any flaws that might be in a couple of the pieces. My business is to renovate houses for sale or rental, so I use glass tile in ALL my kitchens & baths. This particular color scheme is my FAVORITE so far! One thing that no other reviewer mentioned is the metallic COPPER striations in the glass. I think one person said gold, but it really is more copper, which I LOVE! I was worried about the purple, thinking it might be too feminine for my male buyers. However I did not install undercabinet lighting, so you can't even really see the purple shades unless you get real close & know what you're looking for (pic. here, as you'll see, I had to get really close!). Given this, I would have spent the extra money & had the undercabinet lights installed, so you could really appreciate the beauty of this backsplash!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Stunning We did an unexpected bathroom renovation a couple weeks ago, I wanted something simple that matched the paint and the new vanity. The photo does not do this item justice it is beautiful. It was easy to install, I used the Glass Tile Thin Set Mortar and had the tiles up within 40 minutes. I let it set for 24 hours and grouted. It turned out amazing, so much so I want to tile our kitchen backsplash with the same tile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This was my first time installing tile. After reading endless reviews, I decided on the treasure trail iridescent and I'm glad I did! The tile is beautiful, easy to work with, and the value is unbeatable. The colors are brown, copper, gold, and light green with gold streaks. The tile is thin (4MM) so it was easy to cut with tile nippers. Unfortunately, I could not get straight, clean cuts every time. A wet saw would be the better way to go. I used a thin set white mortar mix. If you have a smaller job and don't want to mix the whole bag, you can use three parts mortar mix and one part water. Also, another big decision is choosing your grout color. I did not want white and read many reviews that stated that the grout color they picked was not the same color as shown on the box and inconsistent after drying. I ended up going with Fusion Pro in the EARTH color. It is more expensive, however, it is premixed and already has a sealant in it, so no sealing required! The Fusion Pro is true to color and went on smoothly. Just follow directions. It is a sanded grout, but you can use it on glass tile. It did not scratch my tiles at all. Another thing, definitely get a lint free microfiber cloth. It helps remove the haze left by the grout. I hope this review helps! Happy tiling! I

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product This is such a wonderful product. It is beautiful, especially with its gold streaks. At first, I thought the dark color was black, but it is a dark brown- which goes better with my cabinets. It also has some purples in it that you can't really see on the website. I used this as a backsplash and would recommend this product to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks amazing! Recently renovated our kitchen and needed a back splash that was stylish but on a small budget. Worked great! Installation was very easy...definitely something anyone can do. Some tiles have the smallest chips or cracks, but nothing noticeable. And by some, I mean maybe 10 tiles out of 30 different sheets. For the price its worth it. The end result turned out perfectly, and it was the last piece to pull the whole kitchen together. Very pleased with my purchase!
