Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. Per the reviews on this product, the color varies greatly. Is the green type color shown in the picture turquoise or is it green?

can this be used as a counter top?

Asked by: lolli
In error, I posted my comment based on the midnight Granite tile which can certainly be used as a counter top. This tile, the Verde Amazonia, while stunningly beautiful, is marble and should not be used in kitchen applications where it will likely be exposed to acids in fruits and foods in general. My apologies.

can this tile be used for kitchen backsplash ?

Asked by: baba
Please note that I was speaking of the midnight granite tile I'd ordered from Home Depot. This tile, the Verde Amazonia- a beautiful tile- is marble, and should not be used in applications where it might come in contact with acids in fruits and foods in general. My apologies.

Can this product be used in a shower?

Asked by: Anonymous
It will work in the shower, however, because it's very porous, you must seal it. Never go cheap on tile sealers, I use the most expensive one I can find- "511 Porous Plus".

We bought 2 boxes of these tiles for a small project 3 years ago. Never started the project so the tiles sat around. Now came a time when we wanted to redo a small bathroom and figured we can use these tiles but we were a box short. So we ordered 1 more box to finish the job. The 2 old boxes had better quality tiles with no mesh on the back. It was disappointing to see the quality of the tiles has gone down hill tremendously. 4 of 10 tiles came broken, another broke as soon as i gently picked it up, it literally crumbled in my hands. The new box smelled of filler as soon as i opened it. Another tile was so clearly refurbished that you could see the existing crack and filler on the back over the mesh. Why even bother putting that in the box? Do not buy unless you're willing to spend for 50% extra and go through the hassle of having to return the broken ones. Never again will I purchase marble from Home Depot or MS International .

Very beautiful, but I would recommend it in smaller doses because it's awfully busy and dark but I think it's gorgeous. It tends to be brittle when cutting but it is stone so that's expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Gorgeous! This is another product I have purchased recently that is much more gorgeous in person than in the photo. All of the tiles are different so it is best to lay them all out and pick the pattern(s) you want. I have done extensive research on green marble and the fact that most of it is water sensitive. I tested a corner piece of tile and submerged it in water to make sure I didn't need a special adhesive. The piece of tile did not change shape, color, or texture. It also did not absorb any of the water during the 24 hours. Just in case anyone runs up against this issue, these tile should be fine to use a standard thinset to install. I am using a rapid-setting thinset to make sure the tile is the least subjected to water as possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, unique tiles! Look great in our bathroom. Our order of 24 cases of tile was shipped directly from MS International via New England Motor Freight. Shipped very professionally. Not a single tile broken in shipping. Arrived within a week of purchasing. Wanted these tiles for our bathroom and decided that the 12" x 12 " size would look strange on our wall. We cut all the tiles down to 6" x 12". They cut very well, only a few broke. Washed them all off with the hose and had no problems with warping (read elsewhere online that green marble can absorb water and warp). Used Tec brand latex-modified mortar, and Tec power grout in Charcoal; both worked great. Overall, very happy and it looks great! Fun project to align the veins in the stone in a visually appealing way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a few pieces came in split, but was able to use them for smaller areas. I purchased this tile about 5 years ago for my steam shower, and decided that I would also like it for my floor in the rest of the Master Bath. I found it on line at Home Depot, purchased it, had it shipped to the Home Depot near me with NO shipping charges. It worked out perfect. Only negative was that a few of the 12" x 12" tiles were split/cracked. We were able to use them for the smaller areas so nothing was wasted. I love the look, and the care is so easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Photo not representative, but beautiful nontheless. This marble flooring is beautiful, but the boxes shipped to me had much more veining and the colors were totally different. Of course, this is the nature of stone; colors and veining depend on the quarry, so it is really difficult to order a variegated, multi-colored product over the internet. The quality, however, was excellent with each piece consistently thick, no scratches, no chipped edges. I am certain it would have installed easily and looked beautiful, but the colors were so dark, with so much deep brown veining, that it had a decidedly masculine appearance - not the look I am after. As one other reviewer remarked, the green shade in the product shipped to me, is not a light turquoise as pictured, but a much deeper green. But it is beautiful if you like dark, highly veined marble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The marble was beautiful Used for fireplace surround and was beautiful. Appears like a very high end marble. Easy to install with the backing on the marble that made install easy. You can spend a lot more and get much less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply beautiful tiles that are the cheapest I've found at Home Depot on line. To work with this beautiful, and unique tile, one needs to accept its few shortcomings. It is very fragile, so much so that each piece has a fiberglass mesh epoxied to its back. When it does crack, polyurethane glue (I've used gorilla, titebond and bordens brands) will make for a nearly impossible to see repair because of the many lines (which are in fact natural faults) and textures of the tile. Secondly, the thickness of the tile varies. This aspect can be readily compensated for with mortar or tile adhesive application. The attached photo of the project I used the tile in, has both fracture glued and thick/thin pieces in it.
