The MS International 12 in. x 12 in. White Sparkle Granite Floor and Wall Tile is a salt-and-pepper colored natural stone tile with many different applications. You can use the tile on a floor, wall or countertop, and it's suitable for residential and commercial installations, including bathrooms and kitchens. The unglazed tile is polished with a smooth finish, a high sheen and a moderate variation in tone. NOTE: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

It is possible to polish the edges of these tiles. The easiest way is with a variable-speed polisher/grinder that has a 5/8" - 11 arbor (the most usual size). You will also need a 4" rubber velcro backer, and a set of wet polishing diamond abrasive pads ranging from 400-3000 grit. Finish with what's called a "black buff" pad or a 10000 grit pad for a mirror-like shine on the edge that will match the polish on the face of these tile.
You can also polish the edges of this tile with high grades of wet-dry sandpaper used wet, but it will take much longer and your results will not be as consistent.

I would like to install ganite tile for a kitchen counter top I have new cabinets, so this would be starting from scratch. What kind of board is best and most supportive for the installation of the granite tiles?
Can these granite tiles be installed close together so you have no grout lines?

This slightly porous, color-changing granite tile is the most difficult kind of polished stone to work with in a shower, and unless your installer is a flat-out ace and cuts no corners whatsoever, this sort of thing is almost certain to happen in this kind

This slightly porous, color-changing granite tile is the most difficult kind of polished stone to work with in a shower, and unless your installer is a flat-out ace and cuts no corners whatsoever, this sort of thing is almost certain to happen in this kind of installation. Your worst case scenario is that this entire area needs to be redone, starting from the obvious point of water entrance, the bottom of the shower niche.

I have some black & white granite in my kitchen and this was the only place I could find any that would come close to matching it. I added countertops using this tile adding another 5 ft. of counter space and it looks great. Only downside was there was no trim pieces carried for the edge, but I just extended the tile over the edge 3/8" (the thickness of the tile) and put a 1" strip under it making it a square edge 1 3/8 ". I also used Home Depot tile mats to put it down, which is just peel and stick. I also did not use grout lines, so it would look like solid granite more and not "tile". I did weigh down any high spots for a day or so with several tiles or bricks. You will need to use a good wet saw. I put over 3/8 plywood.

This tile looks fantastic. Recommend a light gray non sanded grout with this joints. They also sell a matching granite counter top. Make sure you order enough though they only come 5 to a box.

Used this tile to replace linoleum in a half-bath. Stellar look for an incredibly low price. Used delorean gray grout and sealer. Two caveats. Even sealed, when water is allowed to stand on the tile for any length of time, the wet granite temporarily darkens some what. After drying, the darker shading returns to normal natural color, but not right away. It may take even a day or 2 for this to occur. Also, natural variations in coloring can make some tiles look like there are small white paint "smudges" on the surface. Therefore, it's a good idea to order an extra box just to make sure all tiles are acceptable. So far, excellent choice for the new floor.

This was a beautiful and inexpensive alternative to laminate counterop for me. Unfortunately, the granite tile is extremely porous. Even after sealing it with a liquid sealer, there are spots in it where the granite has absorbed various liquids. This is unfortunately, because it's actual tile and as such, cannot be easily fixed or replaced.
I was told this particular granite tile was imported from China. Not sure if that makes a difference, since I've used tile like this before. But while most of it is gorgeous, some of it is not. I will purchase a higher quality tile in the future for an installation like this.
